MM's new game.
« on: March 30, 2009, 04:49:39 am »
I hope this is in the correct forum and not against forums rules (I looked at them, but I could have missed something).

But I think we should guess what MM is doing for his next game. Please don't say "No idea", try and have a guess. All we know it's it's going to be 2D and "The best game ever".

I think it will be a side scrolling soldat version of battlefield. That would be the pinnacle of awesome.

Isn't he making something like R, Crimson Glory?

Or has he already made that?

Or am I thinking of the band Crimson Glory?

My Opinion: A "naughty" game would be quite interesting.  ;D
Anyone play KOL?

No need to guess.

He's making Link Dead and Berserker.

R.Crimson Glory is an abandoned project.

Yea Crimson Glory was a failure cause it didn't meet his expectations, so he put out a "demo" version of it and left it at that.
Now he's working on 2 games, Link Dead, and Berserker.
I definitely will like Berserker more after what I've seen and heard about it, however MM's priority is Link Dead so it might take a while till the Berserker project gets started up.

They are the same engine, just a different approach to the game, so he's pretty much making them at the same time (with the help of Sigvatr, the creator of Muslim Massacre, doing the graphics)

btw:  http://mm.soldat.pl/  http://sigvatr.com/  http://thd.vg/  some useful links

Link Dead sounds very promicing, while Berserker just sounds like another soulless shock-game that'll get unintalled after a couple of hours.

Berserker will be a mod for Link Dead for what I know.
And Link Dead will be so different from soldat, he planned to do vehicles and make the game a bit more 'tactical' or teamplay based

Hopefully the Soldat registration will work for Link Dead.

I believe they were considering dropping Berserker... it was the lesser project and they made many revisions to the Link-Dead engine since the last I heard about it.

I've been following the development on both projects quite closely.

Well I thought the point of a shock-game is that it focuses on being shocking and rebellious, which is all great until it quickly becomes apparent that it's like someone brandishing a half-deflated skeleton on Halloween; it's traditionally supposed to be scary, but actualy it's quite pathetic.

Read his blog about it here.
It's a side-scroller like soldat but more teamworklike. What they have to say about it.

Looks pretty neat.

so what youre saying is, scary games arent scary

extrapolation: puzzle games arent puzzling

shit they might aswell stop producing games altogether

seriously though it looks like fun if nothing else

Recently he mentioned that there is going to be a major engine rehaul for LinkDead, so I wouldn't expect much for quite a while.

I agree with the kitty tank guy...(what shall i call you? xD)
Yes it WILL be fun.
If what SDFilm said would ever turn out being correct then we'll never ever see a game again.

^ You really think that I'm saying that puzzle games aren't puzzling?

It's more the delivery of the shock that makes it seem pathetic. If there's no realism/depth then its just another teenager showing you the nasty images he can think of. But of course I've yet to play Berserker to see if that's really the case, though I'm not expecting any revelations.

And speaking of shockingly animated things, Waltz with Bashir is a must-see war documentary. Just saw it all today on DVD.

Ehhh, just pointing out that you should learn to notice a little bit more that what you say may mean another thing than what you mean...that's all.
