Oober cool way to place your flags!
« on: April 05, 2009, 09:54:14 am »
The map is done pretty quickly so it's not working perfectly, but you'll probably get the point if you're not a dummy! The flag placement has much potential in new school mapping me sez.

I'm pretty surprised this hasn't been done before. At least no one has released a map like this.

I would download this unlike the....people above me, but I am running on Linux atm, and do not have any drivers (working on that)...

This section does not require that you have a screenshot anyhow.  And from what I understand, this map is more of an experimental "Check this out if you want" sort of thing? like when people were first experimenting with teleporting.

Uploading screenshots takes around 1-3 mins

So does downloading the map :) . Anyway, I might aswell download it. I'll give ya feed back later.

[EDIT] Aw man! that's cool, I'm not sure if it hasn't been done before though. It prevents the flag from being shot away, and also it looks cool. I'm keeping this idea in mind. Thx.

Not only does it prevent the flag from being shot away, it also makes it possible to grab the flag from above OR below. Very cool idea. :)

I didn't add a screen for a reason. People who are too lazy to download because of the lack of screens are probably too lazy to keep developing something new and fresh onwards, too.

Preventing the flag from dropping was only the second thing in my mind, you got the real point hehe (:

Especially in reversed maps, that flag spawn is very usable, cos unstable flag is usually big problem there. The thing that player can steal flag from bottom and top isnt new thing, since you can make it with thin polygon, but this solution works better cos you can make polygon (hopely) thick enough that it won't allow bug abusing.

I think Dusty's right, but that is not the point.

Well, thanks for providing new ideas to the mapping community :)

Yes I just counted a math problem and got it wrong. How come am I wrong, please tell me?

If you're talking about the screen, phew... Those who were willing to expand their mapping knowledge shiwt downloaded the map without crying over the missing screenshot, and that's all what I wanted. It's better to have one peep doing something with it than ten who just check it out from the screen and say "blah nice."   :|
