For each level up, you gain something. You add one point to one of your stats, then a bonus. It might be a weapon or it might be a skill. Some skills and weapons seem very unbalanced, I agree, but sometimes battles are not that fair either. My person was clearly the superior warrior, but lost due to the fact of my opponent luckly dodging 9 of my attacks in a row (even though his agility was only 6!).

Its just a fun game to see what happens. It doesn't take alot of time to play, obviously, and it is interesting to see what happens.
