What the fuck, Barrett isn't on the list. -_-

Anyways, I'll go for Ak-74. Not only is it easier to use, but it's my second/third best gun.

(Depending on map size, I use Desert Eagles also.)

I would have chosen Barret, since I really don't remember the last significant time I've used anything else. I'll pick Spas, due to the fact I do need the training in Closed Quarters...

My first choice would be the Spas 12, my second choice would be the Steyr Aug.

When i maked this poll i werent sure that the deagles would come so high on the list, i thougt aug will be first. but as you can see, when people got to choose a weapon, only ONE, they take the one they think is best.  i always choose aug or spas when i play for fun, but when i want to win i take the barret or deagle.

Deagles on a mid-small sized map, or one with lots of curves and trenches, and AK on slightly bigger maps.

Just out of curiosity, am I the only one who dislikes the Steyr?

I think this isn't a very good poll seeing many of the primary weapons are left out.

I vary my weapons a lot. Among the most I use at the moment are:
HK MP5
Barrett M82A1
FN Minimi

All of which, not on that poll list =.=

DEs are extremely powerful but I am not that good at aiming with them. Low bullet speed.
Steyr Aug is easy to use and easily the best auto, but it has low ammo so its only for 1v1.
M79 is pretty good and can be a big nuisance to the enemy when used right, but I'm not exactly good with it. Short-ranged.
AK-74 is pretty versatile, though it can be a little bit too slow when combating certain weapon-users.
Spas-12 is pretty overpowered. I'm not that good at aiming with the Spas, but I'd pick it most of the time when I'm flag-rushing. Short-ranged.

All in all, my top choice is Aug or AK. I'm using Aug more frequently, but AK is actually my better weapon.

I'll vote... AK.

I used to hate it a lot before 1.5 came out.

Now with the -5 ammo and buffs in other fields (+1 damage, less bink), I love the Aug.

The Steyr has always been too strong, the easiest and most stupidly simple solution to the conflict between the AK and the Steyr was always to buff the damage on the AUG, and decrease the AK-47 clip to 30 as it is in real life, besides the AK is way too slow, it is not even close to being a replica of the real life world rocking semi auto Kalashnikov 47...I always thought so, just increase it's speed a bit, and lower it's damage, so you won't have another mp5...

You're mixing the AK74 up with the AK47. What you're talking about is the original, which DID have 30 rounds to the standard magazine, but the one used in Soldat is the AK74, new and improved, with a new, smaller, round (5.45x39, compared to the original 7.62x39) that could fit 40 to a magazine.

STM, I just now decided to put aside my disliking for the Steyr, and tried out the new version. I, too, really like the new changes to it, it's a lot more balanced it seems.. Course, it's still not as good as the AK, IMO :)

Didn't get it mixed up, but the more known version, and the better one actually, (Well since the game is based on world war 2 weaponry) I think you should change it...And even for the 74 it is way too slow.

^ What are you talking about? The Steyr Aug, FN Minimi etc came out much later after WW2, and Soldat is based more towards the Vietnam War or later. And MM won't change the weapons any further except for the weapon balance.

I'm surprised at how Aug is now at the bottom of the list ever since the 1.5 update. The -5 ammo is a much bigger psychological impact than I thought. Though the list is not very conclusive since many of the weapons are left out...

You are inaccurate AND it has decent damage? Ummm, don't get your point.
But yes, I'm surprised at the AUG's status as well, cause whenever I play CTF's it's kinda the most used weapon, then goes the mp5, then the spass, then the deagles and the barret, the AK is rarely seen there...

Soldat is inspired by Rambo, Terminator and Predator. The 74 came from one of the episodes of Rambo.
