AK-74 is better anyway. But the weapon made later from the Kalashnikov manufacturer, the 9mm Bizon, is cooler.

Nope, sorry, it may look better, and sound louder, but throw it under a motorcycle and it's gone...And it jams too often after a year of use...If not less.

I was always puzzled why MM chose the 74 over 47... oh well, his game.

Ak got really, really nerfed in my opinion so I won't choose that one.

Deagles are, from the list, my favourite weapon, so depending on the situation I'd choose those or, because I am beginning to like it, the infamous M79

Steyr's fine too, a bit overpowered in comparison to other automatics imo but still nice.

Spas, not one of those weapons I can handle well, so no.

I can own 5 barretards in a row with my twins, as long as I keep moving, it's not hard, and as long as you're used to their curve and speed you can own whole armies...

Barrett-users are forced to move a bit slower in order to be accurate in their shots. They also suffer heavy bink and take a very long time between shots and they must have a clear line to shoot you. However, they have the great advantage of range due to high bullet speed and being able to kill in a single shot.

DE-users may have low bullet speed (therefore short range) and can only kill in 3 shots rather than a single shot, but DE-users have the biggest advantage of speed and accuracy at the same time (you can just rush without sacrificing accuracy). The low bullet speed would also give you a bullet arc, which you can use to place curved shots to hit the enemy even though you aren't directly in his line of fire.

To defeat a Barrett-user with DEs, throw off the sniper's aim and make him miss by constantly moving and being agile. Do not hesitate to keep shooting at him (but make sure you are accurate too) to bink and damage him at the same time. Rush the sniper, otherwise you'll just be giving him an advantage since you will lose out to him in range. If he misses, he is finished - chase him and destroy him.

Be careful though; decent players will always be ready to retaliate should they miss, by the means of their grenades and secondary weapons, which may include knives or a second gun.

Theoretically the Barrett will defeat DEs, as following the 1-hitter > semi rule, but it is very possible for a DE-user to defeat a Barrett-user by following the above due to many factors such as human error and terrain.



Arguably, the DEs are actually the most powerful guns in Soldat but they are the hardest to master.

Just to add something to the Barret discussion: fact is that any skilled sniper can beat any weapon, depending on the map. Maps like Nuubia, Ash, Maya2 and arguably also ctf_Run, with their floating platforms are the best place to be for a sniper. Why? Simple. Hasty movements might not be the best thing to do while trying to aim but they are the best strategy to escape or evade the enemy's bullets. That means that any sniper that did not kill his enemy with the first shot is able to outrun his enemy by jetting and running around the platforms til his bink and his shot-delay has gone down and he gets the next opportunity to take down his enemy. Same goes for the M79 which might be a bit harder to do though.

Bw, it is true, the Deagles definitely ARE the best weapon in the whole game, even if placed at the beginning of the weapon menu, and rarely ever used, if you can master the Deagles, you're a soldat pro...

Steyr ofc, it's high dps accurate and fast reload.

M79 and Barrett is more of an Alt rout and isn't as suitable for long lasting defense.

Along with the Minimi, the Barret, and the minigun, I think the OP considered them too controversial to be added? Prove me wrong, please. Just a random guess.

That can't be the reason. In fact, the M79 and Spas are the most controversial weapons in Soldat atm (excluding grenades). I don't think the MP5 and Minimi are that controversial, they're pretty good weapons. It's probably because of popularity, but then again, the DEs aren't that popular (but is gaining) and the MP5's also gotten pretty popular.
