It's not exactly like Soldat 1.5 was released -on time-. Weren't we told it would first come out around last Christmas? Can't really say they rushed if the version's release was delayed.

Anyways, the version isn't all that bad. The new features may seem somewhat superfluous, but why the hell shouldn't they add stuff like that? Change, unlike what some seem to believe, is good. Anyways, the bug fixes will come with time. Seeing as how programming this game comes with little to no profit, as people registering I think I'd be safe to assume are getting less and less, and MM/eC most likely have better things to do with their time.

If you really dislike 1.5 this much, politely ask Chibi @ Fracs or FLAB @ u13 or eC @ eC to maintain a couple of 1.4.2 servers and play that with your friends.

If by oldies you mean those from atleast 1.2.0 and on then you're wrong. Plus, just because you've been around for a while doesn't mean you have to be blind. I can tell you that.

I agree, that next versions should focus on fixing bugs instead inventing new ones.. there has always been bugs in Soldat, and there will always be, but you can atleast try to fix them (In 1.5 you get much more "hits" than in 1.4.2.)

I hope 1.5.1 (if there will be one) has less bugs or at least the major bugs like "hit"/"eat" and access violation would be fixed, thank you! :)


PS. All in all, i like 1.5 very much tough i was hoping for some graphical changes from 1.4.2 --> 1.5

Let me take my part in this conversation. I've got used to soldat major bugs (hits and all the stuff, for me it's just part of the game). These new one glitches are minor. I'm old soldat player, maybe not old as some people around here...
Anyways, it's good that soldat is still developed.

I have to definitely agree with you. Bugs should be pretty much expected to be encountered.

Also i'd like to point out that 1.5.1 is going to be a primarily bug fixing patch. According to a little chat i had with EnEsCe, all minor updates (1.5.X) generally are for bugfixing.

We're all used on all these bugs but if they fixed them, I guess you wouldnt have problems getting used to a bug-free version, would you? And yes, is still developed, i guess for the reason to attract more people. More people, better support, better game. But if they stuck in the map, die for no reason etc., im not sure Soldat will be appearing on their desktop for a long time eh?

i think we can give more time to soldat creator  for repairs the bugs of this version , calm down people :P

You cannot play 1.4.2 anymore since there'r no servers at all, unless you wanna play offline ^^

I have always liked Deagle but until now it was purely platonic; screwing around on occasion but never anything serious. Now things are really starting to take off and I would like to thank the dev team for making this relationship possible.

Hmm since i am lurking and logged in i'll make a post.
Enesce great job, you deserve it 100%. Its the best update of soldat i witnessed so far! I really enjoy some of the new features added ( lobby, file downloading, radio command, custom sound and gifs ). Too bad some thing(s) got broken with the server scripting tho. I fully trust on a patch some day.  ^^

Actually, some server providers like Chibi (fracs) for instance kept 1.4.2 servers for those who prefer the old version.

Woot! I have been waiting for this update for quite a while, from what I have used with it, it seems great!  The only down side is my PC is failing with Soldat now, :(.  Good job though.
