It came into my mind second ago. It'd unload forums from useless spam. What do you think about it?

Yea, they're nice, but that's what jrgp's website/elitectf.com is for ;D (to the uninformed, they have shoutboxes)

Yeah, it might be popular for a while then it's activity might die. And any "activity" it had would have been at least 75% useless spam.

I highly doubt it'll ever happen.

Any topics that have valid information in them I would want as a forum topic so that it is documentable. With a shoutbox all good ideas are lost to shoutbox hell and the rest(the majority) is worthless poop.

Shoutboxes are a bad idea and these forums have been against it for a very long time.

1) Shoutbox is frequently spammed. That attracts idiots too.
2) The point of the forums is to discuss in threads/topics, not in a shoutbox. If you really must have such an interactive discussion, do it on an IM.
3) There is a simple questions thread in the Lounge for simple questions and many other relevant forums/threads around. Not there or those threads are already ancient? Create one.
4) The shoutbox undermines the actual activity of the forums.

It's a little box whereby you can post short messages in, kinda like an IM.

^ This example is one where anyone including guests can use. There are variations whereby only members can use.

Nah the soldatforums doesn't need a shoutbox, the forum is big enough already. And besides I belive that it might become super spammed.
