Shot into a different server?

Was playing in a gather (the server shown in the screen) but i left the server to sort out my ping. I then entered a deathmatch weapons mod server to see if my ping had been fixed, was playing on that server for a while when i got shot and suddenly i was back in the gather server?

Anyone else ever had this happen?

This might be linked in with the people who keep randomly appearing at the select team menu, I think.
