Idea for gamemode (scripted): Blow up

A friend told me lately about an idea he had 2 days before. He imagined something that is a bit similiar to dodgeball but without any weapons :)

The aim is to throw grenades at your foes, but the grenades don´t do any damage. They simply explode and blow you away. The maps should include many grenadespawns and some deadly polygons, the match is ctf with unreachable flags and survival turned on and the team winning gets 1 kill for every player alive on their team. Winning a round earns the team one point and the match goes on until a certain amount of points (like 10 or something like that). For a better evading you have infinite jets, because using superman and other skills are necessary for playing this kind of a gamemode :)

So, why play this? It trains you at evading grenades, what is very helpful when some guys are nadejuggling at any server and you can throw the nades in a better way, but anyway, it makes fun I guess ;D

I would do this by my own if I could, but I am a totally newbie at scripting, so I hope someone is interested in doing this :-*

EDIT: I changed the jetfuel to infinite, otherwise it will be 1 blow 4 gone [pigtail] Good work on the map I see, I like it, and it would be cool for db, too, that´s right [retard] Download .pms below

Depends on script/server settings. If there are 5 nades per second nothing will survive without inf jet, but someone might want a sniper game with 1 nade per few seconds.

PS. You should change map name to ba_Crolei(i for infinite jet) or sth because now I'll have wrong map version on your server :p

In your version you get hit by a nade and simply fall off, so I would suggest to try it with more jets, but it is your map and not mine, I just want to explain why I think it should be that way, the last decision belongs to you (btw: thanks for the hail [pigtail]). :)

My map is designed for small nading frequency like Max_Grenades=1 and NadeInterval=3.
I don't want you to make your own map but to rename that modded one :)

I realy like the idea about the new gamemode,
i tried to upload it to my server but it didn't work.

The grenades does 100% damge...

You may change the damage from nades in the weapons.ini to 0.

EDIT: Okay I see you got it. You can use my two BUmaps which you can find in DM/HTF/Other mapping sector for your server, too 8) Btw: Your BlowUpmap is too small right now, I would suggest to increase the size by 200-300% and enlarge the jetfuel to do supermanjetting if you get blown up ;D

the maps ... yah i just rebuild a piece of a climbing map where i played this mod similar... i gonna resize my map in a few days...  :)

pls post a link to the download section... i didn't find any maps =/

Yes, it's similar to dogeball but the fun is on a full serv much bigger than a dodgeball serv... :)

btw. in 30minutes i will set up the BlowAway server again...

Nades are round as balls so it's more dodgeballish than the knife version :P

I will be on the server sometimes :) Would be awesome if you renamed it to !Elite Blow Up [pigtail]

EDIT: You need to configure the time when you get a nade back (like 3s for each nade or something like that)

Simply open the script and search for the line. I guess Gizd can help you more with that, he scripted it :) Öhm, what is a SSSHT server? ;D I´d like to have it as a !xxx server because it will be shown up earlier than any other name so we will have more players online

Ok, now it's rly better... But what happens if you had thrown all your nades? Inf Nades or what does we need? Or something like on some Dodgeballservers !nade and you will get a nade or more... ?

Mhmmm... okay, but theres now a problem.
If if activate scripting in the server.ini i cannot start the server...

Well it shows me the normaly text which everytime shown up when i start a server, but you can't join and the processes wont be shown...

Yay! I fixed it, you can join on port 23077 :).

I set the max. grenades to 1, more than 1 would make intensive spraying possible.
