If you could make missions in Soldat...

If you could make missions (or levels or dungeons) in Soldat, what kinds of new weapons types, item types and environmental features would you want to have access to?


Examples:

Weapons - melee weapons like swords, or guns that shoot bouncing projectiles

Items - grappling hook/ninja rope to assist the player in getting around the map

Environmental features - things like doors, moving platforms, water (edit: must be interactive)


Don't limit it to 'modern combat' type stuff, I'm also interested in fantasy and sci-fi themed things, or anything that would contribute to making more interesting gameplay.




Weapons

sword
boomerang
BFG
rock hammer, sledge, pick
flail
bee swarm gun
axe
mace
stick
hammer
staff
halberd
airstrike
landmines
dynamite
crossbow
double daggers
claws
spear
revolver


Items

grappling hook
medikit/health pack that can be carried and used at any time
keys for doors
rocks
shield
electric field powerup
combat boost
mine detectors

item to make you float in water
custard creams to make you grow or enemies shrink


Environment

platforms that crumble after you stand on them
lockable doors
water
triggers

better AI than Soldat's
useless animals
particle explosions
lightning rods
steam, cloud, fog, fire effects

Hmm, weapon wise, i'd like to see some sort of boomerang.  That grappling hook idea is very good and as for environmental features, it'd be cool if there were those crumbling or falling away after a certain time of standing on it platforms.  (Are we being set up Flies?  :'()

Working on the RPG? For medikits, how about the ability to carry them around and use them at your own will? And have it so they seldom heal you completely (different amounts).

I think definitely doors with locks, to give way to objectives such as killing certain enemies for a key to that door. Or just so that you can use them strategically, like running through a lockable door with enemies behind you and then locking it so they have to find a way around and buys you some time.

Vehicles, AI that doesn't rely on waypoints, triggers, and a BFG.

For as long as I've been playing, the one thing I ever wanted Michal to do was to add a single player campaign feature.  But it's always looked as if I'll have to wait until he releases the source, because someone else will definitely do it for him.

pogo stick :D, can be used to travel faster, and to step on enemies and use it as a weapon to hit them :D

I'd have a mission..where you go out into the map, and study different parts of it..describe the rocks you see, and then report back to base.   Of course, you couldn't really "study" persay..but grab a rock or something to run back to camp with.  And if you're too slow, you fail, and I yell at you.

Weapons?  A rock hammer of course, for taking samples, as well as a sledge and a pick.  Oh the fun to be had.

the sad thing is how much i would love to play that. i spent hours in shadow of the collosus just exploring.

but in order for that to be in soldat it would have to be a REALLY pretty map.

All I want is animated GIF's and mabye way better waypointing (select how many bots can drop form on, the order the bots drop from waypoints, the weapons they choose are selected by which waypoint the bot spawns on etc.)

But if you're making a soldat fangame, i'd like these:

Weapons:
Rocket Launcher
Bee Swarm Gun
Axe
Shield

Items:
Beserk Pred Powerup
Electric Field Powerup (a shield of electricity surrounds you, hurting anything that gets close)
carryable health packs

Enviroment:
Leaves blowing around to a certain angle.
Animated tree's that sway
A Windy Day weather
Caves that can crumble

Maces and sticks and flails. Because no RPG is complete without a blunt battering weapon.
And doors would be cool, as well as position and time co-ordinated events.

I don't get this thread... Is this some sort of idea workshop?

Here's a few things:

Environment: Physboxes, Dynamic lighting, Events system (Set actions that are performed after they get triggered), Triggers (used in maps to trigger specific events.), Steam, cloud, fog, and fire effect emitters (maybe fits under animated scenery?)

Weapons: Some form of airstrike (napalm, normal bombs), Landmines, Dynamite (huge kaboom), Dual Uzis

Items: Combat boost (some sort of pill that gives you superpowered jumping and speed...), Mine detectors, Night vision goggles, Heat vision goggles
