Not registering

I have a hard drive connected to my computer that won't show up at all on my computer but when I plug it in it makes the 'new hardware found' sound.

Is there any way I can get it open? The Add hardware Wizard doesn't do jack.

I don't mean to start an arguement, but you should be posting this on a computer help forum, and not a 2D game forum. We do know about that stuff, but you will get more direct and informative help from a proper PC help forum.

As for your problem, what Operating System are you using?

This better not be a porndrive your trying to connect...

is this an external drive? if so is it USB? if so you should look in the hardware manager and see if it is connected. Control pannel>printers and other hardware>system>hardware>device manager

You should see it under disk drives.

Yes, the Add Hardware Wizard is useless.

Once you do what a4yo says and you do indeed see it, right click Start > Click manage > Find Disk Management on the left. On the external usb drive you see, right click it, make a new partition with Fat32 or NTFS file system (doesn't matter which) and then it'll act like a usb flash drive.
