Description: Soldat Fantasy Battle Map.
DM DragonLake sequel - CTF/HTF/TDM Dragon Lake - remake of Dragonwars by ParanoID.
Now it has nice visuals, bugs-free and with working waypoints.
I'm also looking for layout to make INF map with simular style.

Waypoints: Yes.

Download: from TMS | download from mirror  2 Mb

Rate: rate this map on TMS

Extras: DM Dragon Lake | Dragonwar collection 2002-2009

Looks are total perfection as a matter of theme. Those random polyislands are usually damn hard to connect with the rest of map, but that your bg style handles it good.

On gameplay perspective, I'm not great fan of cave bg sceneries, since the scenery is heavier to eyes than plain original background, though it's not big issue there.

Also you've made couple of polygon changes, they are looking good and should be smoothing the gameplay.

well looks are good and layout is proven even though I would have prefered to have some darker background scenery as now its a bit hard to destinguish the poly islands from the scenery.

hmmm yeah

the visuals arent as great as in dm Dragon Lake because of the plain bagground

and i both like and dislike that

i dislike it because:
Looks great and are really art

i like it because:
It makes polygons much more visible and makes the gameplay better

if i were you i would keep it with no bagground as we all know that you can make some awesome art baggrounds

and layout and gamplay always comes before visuals=)

a big - in my oppinion is that youve mirrored the map with scenerys and all the shit:(

all in all gj

I didn't mirror the map.... I just took it as it is...
It's quite big so it's impossible to see both sides at the same time and it doesn't feels too *mirrored* like death for example. middle island are asymmetrical. And also i tried to make map skew to the center, so when you are on your team side it's like pushes you forward, but when you get to enemy territory it goes against you so *mirror effect* is getting decreased even more.

Whatever Mr. High-n-Mighty.  With the amount of detail, it doesn't really matter.

I think the map is quite swell, er speaking aesthetics anyway.  Give it to me on a golden platter, 4v4 online, and then I'll give you a worthy opinion.  So uh... any servers hosting this?

Well I guess VirtualTT uploaded it at #soldat.mappin and I guess I put it at our public server as well.

I forgot to mention that i kept all sceneries under save resolution, so everyone should be able to play on it without getting black squares instead of sceneries (unlike on Dm Dragon Lake).

wow, I like it, I think it's an improvement from the unforgiving red that used to make my eyes bleed, but I was never a huge fan of this map, too much open space for my liking, tehe. Out of curiosity can you go up through the middle to the top little landing thing? Cause I like that idea.
