How hard do you all think it would be to make a good accurate soldat campaign map? like a story mode...

Well, it would probably lack a storyline since Soldat isn't capable of triggers and events, etc.

Hmmm... Is there no way to make triggers? or is there a program that can't yet?

Just make maps with different levels. With some bots on each level.

Then a simple text on the map that tells whats going on.

I am making a tutorial map. So that might be like a Campainge map.

i've tried this once before

real difficult to get all the details right, but it's pretty cool nonetheless, put it on r/s mode and tell me when you make some progress

The only problem I can think of is How easy it would be to "cheat". If I were to make one it would be in realistic mode, so Some people would be able to do kickass solid snake moves...sneaking up on enemies with knives...ect.

But As far as I know there is no way to make it so a map can only be played on realistic, with a preset
number of bots.

And anotherthing, How would I go about makeing it so the same amount of bots spawn in certain places?

One more thing, How would I make it so if a bot sees you, he WILL follow you to the death insted of following you for a bit then stopping?

Thanks,

I'm about halfway doen with a map like this....just want to test some stuff...it's going to have more then one way of wining, such as opting to go through some pipes rather then kill some people and get items, ect.

Its mode it going to be CTF realistic. One person on red (you) aginst a lot of blues.

I'll post pics of it halfway doen soon.

Well, bots are all controlled through waypoints. It is hard to do a "campaign" map exactly for the reasons that you have asked about; there really is no way for most of it. Soldat has no "trigger" system, it is a 2D game with (comparatively) very simple AI, and it was made only for multiplayer. However, some people have made some nice campaign maps. You would want to launch the map by using a program to edit the Soldat ini files, so it sets up a lan match on the right maps with the right amount of bots. I bet you could do a type of "overview" system by launching demos. Hmmm, maybe I should try this  ;D
