2057AD Map Discussion.

Ok, the official place to talk about 2057AD maps.

First: Berlin, the map I made for the beta is now a CTF map, and is (slightly) larger. You ,may download the berlin map in it's first version, here
Second: The next map is called "inf_Despair" and is inspired by inf_abel.

Feel free to contribute Ideas and your own maps for the 2057AD cause. Pictures for Despair posted ASAP.

For the mod's theme, please refer to here

It's not even playable yet by the way, so there are quite a few little flaws.

This is alpha base. Look good?

Not very interesting topic... Post some pics (sketches or overviews) or say what's the point of 2057AD, future theme? for some mod? Info needed...

So which mode? Are you going to keep it as dm? or maybe setting flags for ctf or inf?

Also find better host for your zip files, filefront is very slow. For maps under process I prefer www.fileave.org and for ready maps http://tms.jrgp.org/ . Also patch the rar so that it contains directories: maps, scenery-gfx and textures (if needed, remember small letters), that way it's much faster to install it.

Im not much fan of black and white theme, it's pretty boring. Buildings look pretty good. And that dead forest scenery is very cool.

Is it supposed to be Realistic or normal mod?

In normal m79 boosting would be huge issue, since you don't have roof and you have set very low jets (45), jets should be less (0-20), like in TW maps.

I'm not fan of these kinda maps so can't really comment more. Flag places are crucial to know in any case.

It's for my mod, you'll need to play my beta (no advertising intended) to know the weapon balance. Both Despair and Berlin will have little to no jet fuel. My weapons.ini is very different to traditional soldat.

Flag placement isn't set in stone, but is currently in the courtyard that has been addded to the left of the map in the newer version. It's pretty balanced, though the attackers need more cover.

Despair is also very dark and black and white, but my thrird map, an unamed map, is a breath of fresh air set it a nice tropical environment.

Ok, Berlin is much better now.

It's set at night now, there are clouds in the sky and there's no more fog, as I decided it was dumb. The map is bigger and the bases are far more predominant in their looks. The map boundaries are also far better, using mountains.

I'll post some pics ASAP, but I'm on dial-up speeds right now.
