Connection Problem

So After I installed Zone Alarm Firewall, I realized I was getting a lot of connection problems and got ping kicked once which was random while playing online which became very annoying I had to shut down the firewall and everything went back to normal again. I know its not my internet speed cos  my upload was 6.96 mpbs and download was 8.60 mbps, ping 40ms on the nearest server.please if you know whats wrong can you tell me? thank you in advance.

1) Make sure you are connected via a wire, not via a wireless signal.
2) Add soldat to the exceptions list in ZA (give it full access to the internet, without limitations by ZA).

Thank you. Yes i use wireless and i didnt have any problems when I plugged cable in. But I will still have to look for a longer cable to get from router to room. Thank you again :)
