The 2nd Mapping Contest: Waiting Room
« on: May 26, 2009, 11:41:18 am »
Idea of contest:
There is need at gathers (#soldat.gather (custom) & #soldat.mapping) and in different cw organisator servers (#soldat.match & #soldat.custom.cw) for a map where teams can set up without interruption of another team. But the idea is not only to separate teams but also that teams have something to do while they are waiting for other clan or players. It could be climbing or it could be something else, use your imagination. Also very important thing is that everything should look good.

Special info:
Only default scenery/textures are allowed (we don’t want download times being any longer than they are needed to be), so yeah it’s also default scenery/texture contest. Release it in as dm map.

Deadline: 17/06/2009

I just have to shay these kind of maps are useless. The best way to spend your time while waiting for the others to come is fooling around in a basic ctf map, it also gives you a bit of a warm up. I myself instantly deleted the Lobby map when I left the mapping gather.

Also, people who would like to keep their maplist clean from useless crap (like me) will diss the idea. I only have the eu gather's custom pack & the default maps.

it's just if no-one makes a map for this contest... but you could take any good dodgeball map, and make the middle polys NORMAL, instead of OPC

Hmm...got an idea in the works.  It'll be a miracle if I actually make it.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

It could be a climb map, guys. You wouldn't have to be so bored waiting around in a regular CTF map.

Making a nade (and m79 I guess) climbing map for this, but I had a question.  There are stats for these servers right?  Would it be bad for a persons death-count to put in deadly polygons and such?
For signatures, you are allowed only one image in your signature which may not be wider and taller than 300 and 125 pixels, and may not be over 20kB in file size. No BMPs are allowed.

selfkills are cool but it would be better if they "fall" down if you are climbing and have to restart from bottom or something.

Just making sure mine is officially counted, although I personally wouldn't vote for it myself:

Just so I remember to count it when I make the post, I'm moving that to the DM section.
