I felt the same way. I just did not say anything about it.

I also feel that when comes to arguing, some people here tend to say stuff in a way that's hard to understand (at least for me). I know talking like that make you feel impressive and such but no need to be pretentious. People should talk as they normally would, even when comes to making arguments.

And you know what? Some of these 'intelligent debates' are simply flawed. People pretend and deny, go one big round in a 'logical argument' just to say why they don't accept ___ or end up agreeing with stuff they don't really agree with, when the reason is so fucking simple and : they just dislike ___ from their own emotions, opinions and moral standards.

I'll hold on to my view that there really is pretense during debates rather than honest opinions though by agreeing with stuff that one normally wouldn't agree with.

I agree that these forums are relatively uptight, which isn't my ideal attitude. In fact, that is why I probably shouldn't be a moderator; most of the time, I simply don't care. Unless you've committed a serious offense or have been getting on my nerves, I won't put in the effort to punish you.

Back on topic, though, I agree with you. We are quite uptight in these forums, though not always intelligent. I've been wondering recently if this is a psychological byproduct of the forums' tone. For example, maybe if we used lighter colors (a theme focusing on variations of white, perhaps), the attitudes of our members may become overall lighter. Maybe our rules and the enforcement of said rules could be less strict. I am definitely not active enough in the entirety of these forums to tell you why it is that we have this strict feel about us, but I would personally prefer it if we loosened up a little bit.
