Here's an idea I've wanted to see for a long time. A climbing server with its own custom climbing maps that revolve around "mountain climbing". Of course, to retain realism, there would not be any death polies, but rather we'd make it a realistic server, so if you fall from a height you hurt yourself. It'd be the same as all climbing servers except for mountain climbing maps based around vertical climbing and what not, and a realistic server. A few other perks could be added, like attaining a bullet proof vest for climbing up half the map, so if you fall you won't be hurt as much. Of course, there'd be no save points, and health packs would be minimal.

The damage could easily be exaggerated with an script. Get some maps of that kind and then we'll see.

I'm not really into parkour in this server. What I mean by mountain climbing was scaling rocks and stuff. I'm working on a demo map right now to give you guys an idea (although it's going to suck, since I'm by no means a mapper).

Of course, if I could script, damage would be multiplied by 2, so if you fell from a high enough height, you'd die upon impact.

That's just to give you an idea. It really sucks, and you should be able to get through it in a few minutes (if you don't die, of course).

All maps made for this should have the _m_ tag. ctf_m_name

Really hoping to see some nice, well though out, and detailed climbing maps. :p

You could also increase gravity scriptwise to make it more realistic or code bullets coming from the side at random to emulate wind with a pushing effect.

Problem is that he can't add scripts, he has no access to FTP. Maybe someone would host server when there will be more maps

I maybe make some kind of script for this. Seems like a good idea, instead of all the cheap climbing maps we've played before. this seems like a quite good change. The script will feature:
-You can't join Bravo, only Alpha
-Medical kits on /heal
-Maybe even a medic? Who knows...
-You automatically regenerate your wounds.
-What else...

Also add:

-Position saving
-Group climbing (you can create a group and invite your friends, a group should have a maximum of 4 slots and you can type /warp x (x is the # of the slot your groupmember fills)). A group caps together --> One member caps, all die and start from the beginning + they all become points.
-Highscorelists (for each map, counting in seconds) for solo climbers and groups

I like the hole idea.

-But the script... If there should be rly one, it shouldn't be possible to do /heal as often as you want (only 1-2times).
-Only Alpha? And than teams !? Let's do a race, Alpha vs Bravo, like the race on the "Mount Everest" !?
-Save is for noobs and bugged

ok. the group idea is something that I can not do with the knowledge I have with pascal, so I'd leave some other one do that. I'll do all the other stuff you suggested. /save could be easily enabled or disabled, you can do races, yeah, but make maps of that kind, and /heal will only be possible to do a limited number of times since you spawn, I guess, and it wouldn't heal you completely, just... let's say... 60%?

Well, if you have a group you don´t need to save (disabled in groups, just for solo climbers): one player stays on one spot, the rest trys to get the next gap. If somebody gets it all warp to that guy and somebody else stays

Save should be optional, if it works the players will be happy so enable it. Also do it like you can use only 15 times /save and 200 times /load.

. I asked friends that make maps, tomorrow i will post a few.

EDIT : About healing, it's mountain climbing, there could be camps with healing polys.
