Minigame ideas

Any ideas for minigames to use in an upcoming script? They have to be good to implement them.

There was a server once with an infection gametype.

It had flashbangs and mines.
It was really fun. But I only got to play it a few times!

You were probably asking for new ideas though. O_O

P.s! I have no idea why I received an email about this thread, when I don't even get one for official news!

A pokémon script where you catch pokémon bots by throwing pokéballs (knives) at them and then level them whilst fighting other players! Teammatch should work nicely

Yes YES YESSS!
And make maps and such where you can adventure around then call out your pokemon and they could use moves and such. Would be epic if done well.

There could be some cool explosions and other effects that are similar to MiracleMod's effects.

That alone wouldn't work though, cause bots are subhuman zombies.
And it would require a mod.

Oh. Could you put a pokemon texture on a player? =o That would be pretty cool.

No, you can't although I've been trying to get enesce to implement movable sceneries.

The pokemon idea seems similar to my RPG idea with seamless servers, but it's not a minigame, much too big. I'll do that after the script Gzid and me are working on. Should be really cool.

Well, as a MINIGAME, why not add something along the lines of a strange little 'Grenade Darts' game? I don't know how far scripting can go, but maybe you could make a way of having spots that landing grenades on will score you points, but if you get too close, death polys kill you for cheating. Stupid idea? Yes, but it is an idea nonetheless.

I don't really think many people would play it... but, hell, it's worth a shot just as much as anything else, I'd imagine.

Interesting idea. I think it's a go. Depends on what Gizd thinks. These minigame will be in another game mode, kinda like multi-mode, but these are just bonus rounds for an untherwise stable game mode.

This would be more likened to skee-ball. There are multiple holes, and you have to catch speed, then throw your grenade as far as you can to get it in the best hole, at the bottom of the whole is a dummy bot (named something like, "Hole 1" or "20 Points"), which you would have to kill to get the points (thats how it could be done, by scripting).

Yeah, Skee-Ball. Although, I think a bit of relation to curling would be useful as well, by having the most points in the center and being the hardest to get, so you actually have to judge the power of your throw to get it. If you just had to throw as far as you could, it'd be too easy to master. It could be kind of like this:

it would have to work like DM (ie all players can kill each other).  so the idea is simple - all players spawn in the bottom tier.  when one player kills another, he moves up a level, and the killed player will respawn at the bottom.  first player to the top wins.  perhaps players could be given different weapons depending on what level they're at (eg fists on the bottom, socom at the next level, etc)

In properly designed maps, conventional bunny hopping, backflipping and jetting would be even slower.
