Of the CS maps, only Train, Nuke, Avarax's Aztec, and Assault are great for R/S.  I haven't played any of the rest, with the exceptions of Italy, Office, Cbble, Oilrig, and Deagle5, which are all terrible for R/S.

Of the default maps that work, Crash, Equinox, Laos, Maya, Run, and Voland are the best.  Viet might also work, but I haven't even played it in almost a year so I don't quite remember...all of the rest tend to become huge camp-fests.

Great.  Perhaps most other people like it, I don't.  With many people on the map, it just turns into a who-can-hide-in-the-tunnels-the-longest-and-snipe-the-next-person-to-run-by map.  As well as having problems in the tunnels, that central dip with the tower above it also turns into a place for campers because people are too afraid to run over to the other side because they know they'll get shot.

With relatively inexperienced players, Cbble is a great map, but R/S servers aren't known for having many of them around.  The experienced players, meanwhile, become flighty and nervous and prefer to camp on this map instead of giving up a good position -- something that's entirely frustrating and boring to me.  I play Soldat because I like the speed and R/S because it's more of a challenge to stay alive, this map produces far too little of the former and far too much of the latter if you actually want to run around (just the opposite if you're one of the campers).

I may have switched the inexperienced versus experienced players bit because I haven't actually played this map in a while, but I've played enough to know that most games using this map -- however popular by other players -- tend to go sour fairly quickly.

This isn't a knock on your mapping skills by the way -- it's a great map for all intents and purposes, but it's the players that ruin it.

CS Maps come to mind, but there are also other CTF maps that can be just as fun in R/S. Just find maps that have open spaces and not too many camp areas. ;)

CS maps + default.

Everyone that I play with tends not to camp too much or the admin kills them for taking too long :D

I'm away.
