Wow man....calm down a bit.  There's no need to get so defensive over a suggestion.  You really need to take it down a notch.

Personally, I think this would be an interesting idea.  Under the right settings it could create a very interesting type of game play.  When I read things over I thought it would suit an extended type of match/minigame very well.  Otherwise, for most types of games aside from maybe a realistic match, it might not have much to offer.

Might be interest on a "per round" basis.

Although it would still require changes to the mapping system, so odds are it'll be a long time (if ever) before it's seen.

I was just a little bit angry because of this:

Explain why this is useful please.
It adds more possibilities for mapping and gameplay. In this particular case, it will change gameplay from intense and open fight during day, to sneaky operations during night.

That's really nothing to get angry over.  It's just a possibility, not a certainty.  And definitely not something worth tossing insults over.

I can see what he's getting at, although what I'm thinking of doesn't really suit any of the current game modes.  It's an interesting prospect, though.

Wow...6 say yes and 14 say no...very weird how everyone is suggesting this should be implemented.

It's an interesting feature.

I don't mind if it its implemented anyway, though I'm fine with the way it is.

You dont have to take it so literally. I'm not talking Splinter Cell here, just trying to explain what kind of difference between night and day could be.

I'm not surprised with the fact that more people voted "no" on this. It does sound a bit too complicated for Soldat. But I'm sure there are some who dont even bother reading the comments and thinking before voting.

p.s. thanks, Geo ;D

All of those people who voted yes, including myself, should read this quote...

Quote from: Poster
create a day and night version of a map that suits it.
Because some maps and modes need it and the majority don't. If you want night to arrive after say 10 minutes, use a 10 minute day map and then move onto a 10 minute night map and so on.

It's a simple answer.

Good point, but that would require complete restart of the round, and won't provide a slow and smooth transition between day and night. So there won't be morning and evening either :S

Nah, soldat is too simple for it, even though it is a cool idea, no arguing that, but it would change it A LOT.

Just create a darker scenery with Paint.net and use a black background with some star animations.
POOF. You have yourself a night time map.

He wants to have a continuous change of night and day...Not a darker map.

So I guess this suggestion will wait in darkness until someone revives it. Probably not, but anywho.

With the time changing thing......we could have lights that have problems ( going on , off, on, off...)...

You could have such a day and night effect, too, if scenery scripting was enabled. Then you could have a blue sky on day (0% opacity) and then a night with stars (really possible, the stars would appear slowly) at 100% opacity.

It would be nice to change background colors as well.
Simple color does change the feel of the map A LOT. A clear blue sky slowly changing into orange-violet sunset would be awesome.
