CTF is over rated

CTF is only about 2 teams rushing 2 get the flag with no skill what so ever. In INF it takes more skill and aim because you need to now were the enemy campers are but also move quickly to avoid being sniped. CTF is good though because i sometimes like to see a flurry of bullets but INF is better

Talking about ctf, nowadays there are almost only ctf servers. Other gamemodes are almost forgotten...

In my opinion, INF maps are generally very one sided.

Inf_abel: The moment Alpha gets the flag it's gonna be reaaaaly hard to stop him. He can fly straight to the flag.

inf_industrial: Your only escape is M79 jumping. A barret camper can defeat 1/3 of your side (camping on the left entrance). Going mid will get you sniped by a guy at the end of the corrider.

etc. Of course, not all maps are like this. Just many.

inf_industrial is a commonly played map on leo's. It's fun and both sides can win if you cooperate. I don't know about other severs but there are rules which prevent spawning and other stuff and it makes the game mode even better. I find INF to be a better mode, however, it is MY opinion.

I think inf is more easy because there are only(most) noobs that play it.
I personally don't think it's any more difficult to attack a tower then to cap a flag, if we put aside the players playing the gamemode.

Skilless? That's the worst argument/view I've seen regarding the game modes. You have no idea about the amount of skill it really takes for CTF compared to all the other game modes.

1) CTF is uber-fast. It's much harder to fight in a fast match than a slow match. A good reason why no one camps in CTF too, because it simply is ineffective. In other words, kill or be killed. Attack or be attacked.

2) You have to get the flag AND defend the flag at the same time, that's a very tough job. In INF, the roles are just 100% defined - either you are defending or you are attacking and that's a whole lot easier.

There may be more to it that I don't know, but CTF is definitely more skill-based than INF.

As many others have said, if you think that CTF is lacking in the skill department, one or two gathers should straighten you out.

I do wish infiltration was a more popular gamemode amongst the competitive community though. I was thinking about starting a competitive infiltration clan a couple of months back but nothing came of it. If anybody's interested in getting one rolling (one that actually plays clan wars), let me know.
