Easy things are not hard and yes, scripting an Airstrike is hard miketh, I already know much about scripting, but I wouldn't able to script an airstrike..

Wrong, I know at least 5 people on this here forums that taught themselves how to soldat script. Pascal is one of the easiest computer language.

Says airstrike is coming is quite easy. All you would have to do is create the law bullets.

You could easily copy word line for line from another script.
But if you don't understand normal programming, how are you meant to know to write CreateBullet and all that other jeberish!

If you studied every script out there.
You could probably understand enough to write your own!

If you know that you're a programmer, learning to script is easy. If you don't know whether you're a programmer or not, try to script and find out...

And for all clarity: An airstrike-script itself shouldn't have to be complicated, but the one from ec spawns bullets faster then one per second. Creating a stable timed loop shorter than one second is somewhat more advanced stuff. There are functions as sleep and createThread, but those aren't stable in a lot of situations. There are of course workarounds, but their success will also be different per situation and server.

Scripting IS programming. The only reason it's called scripting and not programming is that you don't manually compile the programs you write. If you don't know programming and how it works, then it is impossible for you to script.

And Soldat scripting isn't really like javascript where you can just copy + paste and not have to worry about much.

Are you kidding? I taught myself to program in the space of a year or so (still learning every day ofc, but the basics). Normal languages take a loong time and usually a trip to where they are spoken to get fluently.

Are you kidding? I taught myself to program in the space of a year or so (still learning every day ofc, but the basics). Normal languages take a loong time and usually a trip to where they are spoken to get fluently.

The majority of people here (myself included) have also taught themselves to program, especially since that's likely to teach you more than just going to school/college, where you only learn a tiny portion of what there is to know.

Actually, I think 'scripting' here means soldat scripting, not scripting in general.

At least that's how I meant it.
