What's up with /gmute and names?
« on: August 16, 2009, 09:41:56 am »
When you join a server with your usual name (eg. MasterMother) and admin gmutes you and you will leave the game to change your nickname (eg. IamMuted) to inform your friends. But once you rejoin the server, your name is still MasterMother and you cannot change it.

Is it a scipt or it was built in soldat? It's very ficking annoying. Please, remove it.

It's built into the server and its purpose is for that exact situation you just described.

You were gmuted.
You have to complain to the admin, as he obviously had a reason to mute you.
Or to make it easier: you were banned from chatting.

edit: As he said.
Last year, I dreamt I was pissing at a restroom, but I missed the urinal and my penis exploded.

Wow, that's extremely stupid. Who the fuck even built it in the server... Jesus...
There are fuckloads of abusive admins. They ban /gmute and do all kind of shit.

If one stupid whack /gmutes me then I have to live with it for 24/7.
Fucking bullshit.
Another reason why soldat sucks nowadays.

He is the admin.
You are a normal player.

Admin has the rights to do on his server whatever he wants, you like it or not.

Respect their authority.

If the admin is abusive, say it to the server owner.

If the admin is abusive, say it to the server owner.
Unless he's the server owner.

Then its obvious that the server sucks.

Unless he's the server owner.

Even if he's the server owner, notifying him that he's a tyrant won't hurt. (since you're already under punishment) And if he shoots you down and bans you, just find a better server. It's as simple as that.

Wow, that's extremely stupid. Who the f**k even built it in the server... Jesus...

This feature is invaluable when it comes to dealing with people who's primary goal in life is to spam, flame, flood, and waste people's time in-game.
