Good modder needed!
« on: August 03, 2009, 07:28:18 pm »
could I get an experienced modder to make it to where the grenade launcher, the shotgun, the deagles, and others are automatics??  If so, I would love you forever.  Here is how I want the mod set up.

0 Minigun               -> M60e4 (from CoD4)
1 Deagles               -> P90 silenced
2 MP5                    -> MP5 silenced
3 AK-74                 -> Tar 21 silenced
4 Steyr AUG            -> Aug A3 silenced
5 Shotgun              -> G36c Silenced
6 Ruger                 -> M21 (make it like the barrett)(with suppressor)
7 Grenade Launcher -> L85a2
8 Barrett                -> Barrett with bipod
9 FN Minimi             -> M4a1
10 USSOCOM          -> Mini-Uzi Silenced or Skorpion Silenced
Chainsaw               -> QBZ - 97
Combat Knife          -> A sweet looking (maybe bloody) knife
Law                      -> Javelin (used to take out tanks, not a throwing spear)

I realize this might not be possible, so if it is, I would like someone to make one for me.  But if not, just tell me.

I sadly have no reward for this.

I think the weapon behaviour is hardcoded into Soldat.

You could change the bullet style for the M79, for example, but you can't make it automatic. The closest to what you want the M79 to become would be a semi-auto variant of the L85A2.

Actually, the M79 is an automatic.
Last year, I dreamt I was pissing at a restroom, but I missed the urinal and my penis exploded.

No just the m79. You could set the fire interval really low, and just keep pusihng the mouse button.

actually I've tried the M79 to TAR 21 conversion a while back, it wasnt too difficult i just couldn't get the sounds right nor could I get the bullets to show.  I could hold the fire button and it would shoot except no lines of the bullets showed up.  but i saw several bullets continuously hitting the wall I'd shoot at too.

I don't like the ruger,  I wish I could make it more like the barrett is and change it to an M21 suppressed

I've also wanted to try changing the shotgun into a fully automatic

For the LAW, I wanted a javelin.  in case you dont know what a javelin does, it goes clear up into the air, and then locks onto its targets (a tank for example) and drops down on top of them.

I can EASILY change the pistol, it's just a matter of where I get the sounds.

Concerning the M79-to-TAR21 conversion, if you changed the grenade graphic to that of an ordinary bullet, I have no idea why it wouldn't show in-game.

Changing the ruger into what you want it to be is a simple matter of modifying the weapons.ini and then creating new interface/in-game graphics.

But the shotgun isn't meant to be automatic, so that's not gonna happen.

Turning a dumb-fire rocket launcher into a homing projectile launcher does not fit Soldat, just my thoughts. And even then, it can't be made to home in on targets, not to mention being INITIALLY fired straight up as this would eliminate it's usefulness in closed maps.

Too ambitious for Soldat, if you ask me >.>

No, you can take away from or add that to any weapon. It's "startuptime" in weapons.ini

Maybe I havent so much experience like other modders here but I can make you an advice:

If you want to make a good, working and uncluttered mod you must make a to-do list(go to the next point if you are completly sure that you finished the previous one):

-Draw the interface-weapons/stuff
-Draw the ingame-weapons/stuff
-Draw the Gosteks
-Draw the HUD/Interface
-Implent the sounds
-Pack it
-Test the package
-Post it

Of course you must check the possibilities first ^^

Wouldn't sound-testing come before the Gosteks and the HUD even?
Unless you're sure you can get the sounds you want, I wouldn't leave it for later.
