Minimi
« on: August 21, 2009, 05:05:43 pm »
I hope there is a new weapons.ini in soldat 1.5.1 version. CUz that f**king piece of minimi is still so f**king overpowered in r/s and r.

Give it ammo 1000 and damage -100. KTHXBAI

Very constructive post. I really feel like you have given several compelling arguments and we are well on the way to seriously discussing the changes the balance team could make to the Minimi. Well done, sir.

On a serious note, I do feel that the Minimi's changes were too radical. -1 movementacc was already stretching it, but -30 reload is a little crazy. It was near perfect in the last version but I feel a little cheap whenever I use it now. Then again I'm hardly playing Soldat anymore due to my recent PS3 purchase, but regardless, its potential is much higher than the previous version.

The issue doesn't need any arguments, same thing in nonreal.

The changes from 1.4.2 to 1.5 were reduced self-bink and -1 movementacc, that's all.

In both realistic and non-realistic, Minimi...

1) Is too accurate
2) High damage
3) Decent-fast firing rate
4) Combining 3 and 4, the Minimi has very good DOT
5) High ammo per clip - you'll take forever to run out.
6) Reload makes no difference. Chances are you'd die before you run out of ammo.
7) Bullet Speed is uber high, so it won't lose much damage over a distance and can be used at long range

Therefore overpowered.

If only bullet speed and the damage lost overtime and the force of gravity acting on bullets of individual guns are 3 separate things...

I'm thinking the Minimi needs a slight damage reduction in some way, via damage lost overtime and a slight reduction of its actual firepower (but still taking 8 shots to kill). It also needs to get back its movementacc 4. Other than that, it'd be okay.

I don't think the minimi is overpowered in Realistic mode at all.. actually I think lagg and skills matters alot more then the weapond mod atm. All weapons are pretty much fair now.

So I guess you are using it?

And come on. I was joking about the "Give it ammo 1000 and damage -100. KTHXBAI" part. My point was to make if fair to other weapons.

Minimi could need a bit bigger recoil/movementacc to make it better suited for realistic.

Mini is far overpowerd, it has too much accuracy, firepower and ammo. It's too easy to kill with it. It's firepower is need to be reduced, i think, and it should be much less accurate.

For me Minimi is good as it is, and long reloading time makes it fair, but if you want so much to change it add two fireinterval more.
Sorry if I'm insolent.

As a minimi user i disagree with you minimi is not overpowered, you right there is 50 Bullets per clip but the reload time is balancing it. if you shoot 30 + bullets it becames inaccurate and it is very hard to aim.
In my opinion the  [Spas] is most overpowered in that version.
Second place goes to the eternal newbie players weapon the M79  [M79] 2 things are disturbing me about the m79 that time the ultra fast reload, and the power splitting on enemy and yourself when shoot very close, what i mean is when you shoot with m79 super close to enemy he dies and you still got about half of the health WTF just becouse its "your" nade you don't die of it?!

If you shoot 30+ bullets you already have 3 kills more to your name...
And let's not forget that after 50 shots you're screwed anyways, sprayers are always a priority target when the flag(s) is/are still in place.

how some one can say minimi is not overpowered¿, but you are right with the spas, is like an auto with a ultra damage, 8bullet and you can reload and shoot, also the spas have a bug shooting pressing r and you have infinite bullest, is the perfect weapon, i only saw minimi, spas, mp5 and m79 in all sctfl

The Spas bug has been fixed ages ago, read the change-logs.

@Lee: Try to pay more attention to what you quote, I said sprayers are a jackpot for snipers and rushers once they start reloading.

I have no opinion on whether or no the Mini is overpowered but I'd thought I'd point out some really important things. Make what you want of it!

Bullets per Second = 6.7

Second to Kill: Head=0.85 Torso=0.98 Legs=1.08
Kills per Second:Head=1.18 Torso=1.03 Legs=0.92
Kills per Clip: Head=8.80 Torso=7.65 Legs=6.89
Bullets to Kill: Head=5.68 Torso=6.54 Legs=7.26
Reload in seconds= 4.167
Bink=-7
MovementAcc=3

All Statistics came from SWF (check signature[SWF uses formulas from Soldat some of my own and some form Mod starter by serial killer]).
