Normal and Realistic Mode Weapon Balance boards
« on: August 29, 2009, 07:07:34 pm »
I request that an additional board be created on these forums, called Realistic Mode Weapon Balance. The current Weapon Balance Discussion board could be renamed to Normal Mode Weapon Balance.

The current board is to littered to browse. The most annoying thing to come across are topics that are ambiguous, which makes all posts difficult to interpret which mode the posters are referring to.

Either this or have people moderate the board, because barely anyone reads the stickies (which could use an update).

For the time that I've been active in the balance section, I found that a problem as well, so I'd agree to this suggestion.

EDIT:
On a side note, I find that the weapon balance's stand is VERY unclear, as in how the weapons are meant to be.

why don't people just get in the habit of making sure to say which one they're talking about?  This doesn't require an additional board to solve, just ask people which they're talking about in the thread.  Eventually people will get in the habit of saying it up front.

This will not happen.

has it ever occurred to you that your negativity may simply influence people not to give a shit and even try to improve the state of the forums and the quality of the posts/threads?

Who's going to ask everyone to state which mode they're referring to? I'm not going to.

Whatever... Could the mods just be reminded to lock or edit all topics that are missing an [REALISTIC] or [NORMAL] tag in the title, and edit the stickies to be more clear about this.

A simple [REALISTIC] or [NORMAL] should be enough, just like in the interfaces.

Always interested, but I prefer seeing the weapon.ini directly instead of going into a server though. Especially if they have custom maps.

EDIT:
Hey, and minigun isn't activated there.

Don't mind if I post up the current beta balance I see only just now (from what I can see in the weapon selection menu), I believe many would be interested as well (font size 1pt to prevent over-stretching of page and those who wish to see it can just quote this post):

Didn't we have a rule going that threads there have to include [NORMAL] or [REALISTIC] depending on the mode discussed? That kind of got forgotten, while it was a good rule of thumb 'n FIST.

Since nobody really bothers cleaning shit from out of there, this could work well (SUB-FORUMS FUNCTION, FUCK YEAH.)

And on that note, I nominate STM for both beta tester and weapon balance mod.
