Yeah, its called alveolar osteitis, or dry socket. Not only does it cause infection, but it makes post-surgery actually moderately(and in some cases extremely) painful and thus prolonging the process. I experienced no pain and they gave me painkillers but I never used them so I wasn't going to make it worse by smoking(was a smoker at the time).

Think I'll be fine. It's been 8 and a half days now. The cravings have lessened significantly.

Stop using tabac products replacing them with weed, I did that and it helped.
Think weed is bad? GOD NO!
After using weed couple of weeks [ 2 spliffs , 1mg at week ] I didn't become opsessed with weed, and i don't need tabac anymore.
Yea, the truth of weed is that is a bit costly...but it worth.Also, don't forget to ignore sports and your life.

I hope you get through this kazuki. I've quit smoking a few years ago and it was one of the best things I ever did. How I battled my urge for ciggaretes was with video games as I literraly geeked my ass off for 2 weeks and it kept me from thinking about smoking... However after those 2 weeks a friday came, along with booze, as those two mostly come together... To my luck my drinking buddy was a smoker so when I was shitfaced completely, I asked him for a smoke, he was offcourse happy to oblige the fucking bastard. I smoked half of that cig and it was the best ciggarete I ever smoked(or half a ciggarete), before thinking to myself "What the fuck am I doing?" and quickly put it out and ordered another round.
So, video games aren't all that bad(as if you geeks don't already know that)

I recently started playing on one of those buggy, mid-rate servers just to keep myself occupied, but that brings me to my next point.

@Outcast: This Monday, I had the afternoon off. After that, starting with Tuesday, the only free time I've had was yesterday (Thursday) morning, which was occupied by calculus homework. Between school, work, and homework, I die a little bit on the inside every day. >_> But yes, games do help.

Got my surgery done yesterday. They only used local anesthesia, but I could barely feel anything. The pain that came about an hour afterward was something so ridiculous that I couldn't stay in one place. I had to constantly move my feet or my arms in order to simply distract myself from feeling the pain. At first I took norco, but it did next to nothing for me. Then I had to wait 6 hours so that I would be clear to take percocet, and the percocet did wonders.

But yeah. Longest 6 hours of my life.
