You should even if he doesn't. I have the most fun at pre-releases/release events. Its nice and relaxed. Just go in and try to win, but dont be disappointed. If there's an actively asshole player (which there's always bound to be a few), just brush it off.

I got these from IGN because they have great screens. These are all in-game, I believe.

Uncharted (Platinum trophy for 100%, just replaying it until 2 comes out):
