Egg Drop

a4yo is right. I did this in middle school and we were only allowed 2 pieces of paper and tape. We did basically what UnknownSniper said, roughed up one piece of paper until it was soft and put it inside of a cone with the egg on top, taped the whole thing together, and made sure that when we threw it that it landed on the tip of the cone.
Worked fine.

Wouldn't a small parachute-like affair still be good to help automatically align the eggdrop so the cone would be facing the ground when it impacts?

Espadon, probably, but making a parachute out of paper just seems superfluously tedious when you consider that you have to make strings from paper.

Make two cones, fill them both up with paper balls, tape them together around the egg, drop it like a javelin, and hope it lands on one of the tips.

Double sided paper plane, then use the 3rd sheet to cover egg some how. Drop it at a downward angle of 45-50 degrees. Maybe add upward fins at the back to help it glide out. if the plane does fall properly, then it will cushion the egg enough.
