I thought an earlier probe already discovered frozen water deposits at the poles. What are they doing, searching for actual blocks of ice now?

They're launching a missile to one of the craters, and searching for vaporised water gases (afaik)

I just hope theres no explosive gases there, lol

I hope this isn't gonna be some scary 2012 scenario where Nasa's nuke dislodges the moon from its orbit and makes it collide with earth. I'd be pissed.

That would be one hell of a nuke. I'd be impressed.

lets say for instance they actually find a proper amount of water on the moon

great job guys. excellent use of taxpayers money. maybe you should use some of that money to buy science lessons because apparently 2/3 of the planet is covered in the stuff

Yeah, the ice you find on the moon is like that blackish gunky ice that you find piled up in parking lots in the winter. Except a bit dirtier.

GG purifying that s**t.

Let's not pick on Geo now.

Let's pick on nasa instead.

No but seriously, it's alright I guess. It would be pretty cool if they found water, but how can this benefit us?

It probably won't for (many) years.  If it does, which I hope.

From what I understand the point is to make the moon a second staging area for space missions.  If there's water to be had, a structure can be built there and we can live off space paste while launching rockets to Mars using oxygen from our new found resource.

It's a steal of a deal if you can fuel and launch rockets from the moon instead of Earth.  That and moon houses will be the shit.  Kinda.

Oh god.
Just made my weekend.
Last year, I dreamt I was pissing at a restroom, but I missed the urinal and my penis exploded.
