Why I like Soldat(Revive)

Such a good thread, providing many incites into soldats awesomeness.

I like soldat because of the versatility of game play. Many gamemodes and servers prvide hours of fun. The weapons are ownage too. Where else do you get to run and gun with a 50.cal?

Well, Soldat is a great game, because:

1) Awesome unique 3rd person 2D shooting game
2) Neat modes, weapons, and balance of weapons
3) Nice scripts, easy to play
4) I played this game for three years, and still think it's better than any free fps games.
5) Nice violence (HEADSHOT!!! OMFGBLOWNUPHEADANDBODIES)

all the movements like cannoinball and gliding and all that shit. the teamwork and all the buggy and tricky things.

also, it's simple, but yet "complex" which makes it good.

I just thought of something none of you have mentioned thus far: Soldat is, for all intents and purposes, free. Really, how many unique excellent multiplayer non-browser games have full functionality at no charge?

but if you added a key component...

a game free of charge and is only a 10MB download. Small downloads is attractive.

Ah yes. And the maps and their dependencies, are all damn tiny. One of the main reasons I hate playing most fps's is that it takes like 10minutes to download the map, and once you're finally able to join the game, the server's empty.

I like the artistic side of it. The modability. You have to be really creative to make it look good. And i like how the soldat comunity work together to make soldat better.

Dying is funny. That alone makes it strictly superior to most games. It is infinitely harder to get frustrated when your body flies the opposite direction of your head. Killing is funnier, which helps with winning. I also like the variety, run-of-the-mill CTF to duckhunt to zombies to hexer. I also love how you can play for any feasible amount of time and it is just as fun. Community ain't bad for an FPS neither.
