i currently have a psp 2000 (slim & lite) which as of right now is holding

ff9, ff8, ff6 and mgs1 for the playstation
marvel vs capcom, marvel vs street fighter and street fighter alpha 3 for the cps2
super mario bros 1 2 and 3, land and world for their respective consoles
legend of zelda a link to the past for snes
metal slug 1234 and 5 for neo geo
super mario 64 for the n64
and all the sonic games for the genesis

i have a couple other titles in there randomly too like tetris and shit that i cant remember. also i can get any ps1 game on there whenever i want i still have a decent amount of space on my 16gb card and if not i can always take something old off. DID I MENTION I CAN GET ANY PSP GAME ON HERE WITH THE UMD TOO? no i didnt. but i did now

it took me about a year and a bit after putting it off over and over to finally get this thing modded to the max but its fucking worth it. any old school game i can think of i can play anywhere in the world whenever i want

now im sitting here wondering why the psp gets so much shit. yall hatin. this thing rocks.

oh yeah it does all that other shit too like you can watch tv shows you put on there or from youtube and listen to your music and you can put pictures on it too. i just filled it full of pdf versions of classic books so i can read whenever i feel like it

fuck the ds

this thread is now coming up with genuine reasons why the psp sucks and me raging back at you

oh yeah and .... all the pokemon games :3

I got Metal slug 1~6, Pokemon Red, and that's it :P

I haven't got to jail break my PSP that much.

I haven't done anything fun with mine. Useless pile of junk.

Thanks for ruining the market for psp games though. Now no company wants to invest if the game is just going to be pirated.

Hell yeah, this is why PSPs are the shit. I'm planning on buying a used PSP1000 from eBay when my paycheck comes in tomorrow. The PSP1000s are easiest to put custom firmware on. Just use Pandora's Battery.

You can torrent any PSP game as a CSO/ISO and play it from your memory stick, not to mention all the emulators you can run on a PSP. How funny would it be if you could emulate a DS on your PSP? Anyway, now that the PSPGo is out, Sony is planning to go all digital, which means no more CSOs or ISOs for us, but there will probably be some way to pirate PSP games even so.

Yeah, the PSP is the only portable console I play on.

It's really versatile too, you can play almost anything on it.

Can anyone recommend something good to play on the psp?

And for all the other stuff too.  I already loved the PSP, even though I don't own one, but with that spread of games it makes me want to try this out.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

yes 1000s are the easiest to mod. id suggest getting a 2000 if you want to spend the time hardmodding like i did because having a slimmer version is just that much cooler. either way they are still both fine choices just dont get a 3000 or the go because you cant do s**t

Can anyone recommend something good to play on the psp?

other than what ive already mentioned? for good psp games try dissidia if you like final fantasy or metal gear ops if you like mgs :3 both fine games. i think there are gta games too

I haven't done anything fun with mine. Useless pile of junk.

yeah. do something with it first and then it will be useful

Thanks for ruining the market for psp games though. Now no company wants to invest if the game is just going to be pirated.

im single handedly responsible? oh you mean people like me. just as a reminder piracy is not apparent in only the psp market. the ds has a very large piracy scene too

now as for the moral issue. youll notice i didnt include any psp titles in my list. thats because i only put files on my psp which are no longer for sale. from which the original company would take very little to no profit from today. i am not killing the psp market. i still buy psp titles. i am simply extending the psp to what it should have been originally with homebrew

The DS has a large user base (of eight year olds) and a small group of pirates (weeaboos), the PSP is the other way around. Most of the people who have a psp have either jailbroken them or placed them on a dusty shelf.

Thanks to pirates, the PSP doesn't have any really good games anyway.  There are no third party games worth mentioning and the sony ones aren't all that great.

Aye, I used to have a PSP1000 until it drowned in a monsoon. Actually, everything works except the battery and the circle button, but I may as well buy a used like-new one from eBay. I didn't like working with the 2000s. They were too restrictive. And I can imagine the 3000 and the PSPGo are pretty much impossible. At least for now.

I used mine as an MP3 player, a GBA, SNES, and PS1. There is plenty of homebrew out there, such as applications that turn your PSP into a universal remote control (I tried this at school, fun stuff), PDF reader (for books), scientific calculator, etc., etc.. I had it hooked up to my car stereo. At first it was only for the music, but then I found out that Pokemon Silver and Fire Emblem sound fucking awesome in Dolby Digital surround sound. ;P

the 2000 used to be very restricted. i dont know how long ago that was you found that out but its a hell of a lot better now. it does practically everything the 1000 does now

its just harder to get there

Sweet, good to hear. Yeah, about a year and a half ago, Pandora's Battery would barely work on a 2000, and most of the homebrew wouldn't run correctly.

@ds dude - I think it has a faster processor. I don't remember hearing anything about more RAM.

Yeah i have a CFW psp 2000 aswell, best handheld ever.

Im very surprized Noone has mentioned Monster Hunter!
One of the most hardcore games on the system.
I recently BOUGHT Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, because i like to support the devolpers of great titles.
For other games i just buy them used at gamestop.. and if i like them, ill rip them on my computer, and return it. but if i love it ill keep it. and if i hate it ill rip it anyway so i have a bigger collection.

Just a question
16gb sticks work on psp2000? i thought they didnt for awhile, idk. apparently they work.

EDIT: forgot to mention. But if you happen to get a hold on a psp 2000, or 1000 with OFW 5.03 or lower you can hack it without a pandora battery, and its super easy, its what i did. Ill link a vid if someone asks.

EDIT2: isnt talk like this against the rules?   ;)

Ah yes, thanks for correcting me. However, it shouldn't matter what version of the psp you have though. I've ran some pretty tough games on the psp1000 with no lag or weird sync.

Just to assure you.

We should all play a multiplayer game together. Would be fun.

Yeah, with custom firmware you can force the CPU of the 1000 to run at 333MHz, which is higher than it's used to. I think the only issue a PSP1000 has when running at 266MHz is God of War. God of War on the PSP was a very demanding game and it would lag visually every now and then if the CPU wasn't running at the fastest speed.

I have a psp slim 2k too.
Basicly i play on it on my free time.
Basicly i use it to watch movies, read some mangas and play all the cool rpg games that takes up to 120 hours :o
But it also has a nice side with the homebrew software that makes the psp the best console ever because of the support that anything works on it! :3.
And
oh yeah and .... all the pokemon games :3
Screw mudkipz games >__> , they suck!
anyway what i"m trying to say is: PSP owns All other portable consoles and ipod touches!

So if anyone have any problems againts the PSP, I will wank to him day and night! >:(

Just a question

yeah i bought a sony memory stick pro duo 16gb about 2 weeks ago and ive had no problems with it on the psp. works just like any other

also kazuki if youre still planning on getting that psp from ebay then again i would still advise you get a 2000 if you dont mind hard modding it. ive never had fps problems or anything like that with this thing unlike what i am currently hearing about the 1000

hard modding looks kind of complicated when you see a tutorial but all in all its actually just a half an hour job which is quite simple once you know what youre doing. you just cut out a line and draw a line in pencil from what i can remember. id suggest getting this battery afterwards though because my old battery started falling apart after i used it to flash this psp. its also great to have some decent playtime available aswell. the stock battery runs out while playing after about 4 hours which means youre always having to check it wheras this battery lasts literally all day before you have to charge it
