Soldat 1.5.1 maps, old ruined?

I think that new modifications for old Soldat maps was bad step. They changed so much and now they looks like totally new maps. They are not bad at all but why they can`t be called for example Laos2.
It will be good to keep old maps without any changes and their modificated versions call as new maps.

B2b looks unfinished. Otherwise, I don't mind the changes.

Simplicity and keeping the lenght of maplist endurable affects on maps. CTF maplist is pretty long already so we don't want to have two almost similiar maps in the list. About naming, official version should use only the simpliest map names. It's more practical to change the old map name than having (for example) ctf_Laos2 in official version.

I'm sure that someone will make classic mappack in future, so that you would be still able to play classic maps in public servers.

And as I've said, current beta maplist isn't written in stone.

Stop ruining the old maps. If you have no imagination for new maps, you should really consider finding another hobby.
Also stop overfilling the maps up with scenery, it looks crap and doesnt improve gameplay in anyways.

I hope SCTFL admins will send him in a forest for a mushroompicking and keep current map forms.

I am afraid there hasn't been any effort into that.
most effort has gone into ctf/inf/htf

I'm now going to say something that will most likely piss most of the 'mappers' off...

you guys should learn to play before attempting to make any of the existing maps better. I mean, you guys are a part of this community, the creative part. but that doesn't mean you have the ultimate knowledge over what is playable and what isn't. this isn't based entirely on my opinion but nobody I have talked with have liked these little changes or 'enhancements' you have made on the maps that are the most classic and notalgic part of soldat, if pursued this way, going to change too much in the game that it will erase most of what has been default in the game for soooooo long, period. perhaps you should just jump over to link-dead or whatever

The only probably other than me finding the maps annoying (I'd get used to them), its just the excess scenery, textures, and the BE make one hell a cocktail against my FPS.

I'm rocking 15 on average on it.

The texture of the new maps are awesome. The sceneries are overdone, and while they do look nice, it just makes things harder to see in a game as fast as Soldat.

Additionally, Laos's new background is terrible. Mappers: please use a high amount of contrast.
