I got to agree, the original is way better. All this simplicity in soldat maps makes me sick of it.

Original tunnels are just crap. When you spawn bottom, you always just try find the fastest way to top.

I like the chances, Duz remake it is!

Bottom tunnels were annoying and useless most of the time.
Remake is much much better.

I just miss that warp thing >>

For DM that rmk is a must, fast paced and improved lower areas. Not the old feelling that you losing frags for being respawn at lowest route.

Just noticed: all kits in tunnels are placed in such a way that they might spawn in the polys. Keep in mind that kits don't spawn exactly where spawn is, but a little further up (and sometimes left/right). So give them more room between ceiling and test them in-game to make sure they don't get stuck too often (sometimes they still will, especially at the start of the round).

This would be the only remake I'd accept if only the borders were like in the original version. Borders such as the ones in the remake and those which fade to black make the map itself feel not-so-well-made.

The remake lacks the soul.

Agreed. Messy and cornerous outline (or whatever you call it) of map is better than rounding.

In dark maps the black fade doesn't look bad. But agreed on that it's ugly when there's "daylight theme" and blackfade.

My point of view is that fading the borders to black is the easy and quick way out. Making a blocky border which also looks good takes much more time and experience.

Yes black fade is easier and faster, but in the end the point is to make map good looking, no matter how "lame" or easy it's done.

old cambodia utilizes a more jagged/rugged colouring technique. you've turned it into some smooth softcore, depriving it of its previous characteristics. It is very easy to make a smooth map, but making another jagged-like coloured one with the same shading pattern is not, try it for yourself. The lower part is actually adequately done, but you could have kept a larger bottom part of the map intact. You didn't hit the target, no cigar. Thank you, come again.

Dark Crusade is right, maps are becoming to simple, if your gonna do somethin, maybe make the tunnles more acceable or even more open, reducing jet amount might make people go high up less often. But while most people do fight top, the tunnels give more room in larger fights.
