Noob Question Concerning Killing People
« on: January 08, 2010, 01:02:33 am »
Please excuse this very noobish question, but when I kill some one three pieces of information are shown about the kill - Ricochets, Airtime and Distance.
Ricochets I understand, but Airtime and Distance, what are they?
I assumed distance was the distance between me and my victim - execpt that the number shown fluctuates wildly, and a kill from one side of the map to the other can show a number such as 3.14 m. As far as I can tell its a random number.
And airtime - WTF?

I've been playing Soldat for 3 years now, and I still don't get it. Perhaps I am very stupid?

Airtime is the amount of time the bullet that killed your opponent has stayed in the air(?)

oh and Distance is the distance between you and your opponent when you killed him.

Yes that's what I though initially, but the number has no representation of the distance (point blank can be 50  m, and across the map can be 0.x m) and while the number is displaying it changes huge amounts despite me and my victims corpse being stationary. Is this a bug - does it display the correct and constant distance for every one else?

it displays the correct amount for everyone else. and yes, I'm sure it meets from the time the bullet was created untill the victim is killed. that by measuring the whole trajectory, meaning, if you fire a M79 bullet straight up and put your target at the fiering location, the distance would be something like 70 and not 0.

Airtime is the amount of time before the corpse or numerous body parts hit the ground. 1st part to hit sets the time. And I'm sure your distance is bugged. Can you tell us what gun you normally use?

Last year, I dreamt I was pissing at a restroom, but I missed the urinal and my penis exploded.

time (seconds) != distance (meters)
No difference between man and mouse - both end up in pussy.

How long as in how many ms.
Long <> Length
