Mines. Are. Fun. =] etc.
« on: January 10, 2010, 08:20:19 am »
Throwing grenades is one feat in which many can improve upon.

And certainly I have been doing just that to add to both my gun play and at times a means of maneuvering about the map, usually if I wish to get somewhere in a hasty manner without slowing and other times if I wish to aid an ally or slow an enemy. It is another thing to plant grenades (maybe in this case I can call them land mines) and to see your judgment about where to plant them paying off. Often I may park them at a health pack, grenade pack or behind a figure that covers any image of the player, if not in tall grass. I have found that the most effective way to plant a grenade is when your enemy is unaware. And at times this may be difficult to discern weather they are aware or not. That is where the decision to hide them behind health packs come into play. However I guess I am just speaking on one thing that I am proud of. Without going into detail, what about you?

Be it that others may acknowledge you for it or not, what part of your performance are you proud of?

My apologies. I actually rearranged the post and removed some items of it but it seems I did not edit everything properly.

Grenades blow up too soon.
Three seconds is all it takes sometimes. So I work within that window of opportunity.

As I love grenades I use them different in different situations. They are good for covering areas / slowing down enemies, but it´s the best to carry them with you for situations in which they are really necessary. E.g. you use an automatic rifle. In small areas you throw grenades on enemies and kill them with your gun. If you carry a ret you actually use them only to get away (hit and run) or damage/kill the enemy after you´ve missed. You forgot to mention, that you are able to boost with them on maps like Ash and Run, so nades are both tactical and offensive weapons and as important as your primary gun.

I am proud about "aw ma gawd, that´s impossible knifeee"-throws like EFC is running away, you boost yourself with a M79 and pwn him with your secondary.

My first post: "...a means of maneuvering about the map...etc"

Also, I am thankful that I know when to use grenades and when not to. However I am at a disadvantage when any of my teammates waste grenades from the home base mainly because we have them. It really disrupts my means of going about things, especially when I purposefully go unarmed (with the exception of the grenades) to search for weapons (none in particular). It is understood that you can use grenades for cover of an area in particular but come on.

And I am proud of those "OMG" kills too because I get the majority of my kills with the manual weapons. And the kills are often sudden in those cases as well as indirect half of the time. Like descending from the sky swift to knowingly arrive on enemy territory and take out at least half the team with the use of a knife. And be it that I survive or not, I have a habit of dropping grenades in the appropriate places. Unfortunately once I catch the enemy flag carrier and make the call as to where the loose flag (along with the other bodies) is, not everyone picks up on the call in a timely manner.

I'm also proud that I can at times respond to calls from allies and come through as intended.

PS: When I said "without going into detail" I meant to utilize a sentence excluding the need for me to go into detail as to how I make use of the grenades. Hope that clears things up.

Also you can be proud that you didn´t start like "I m su kewl becuz I du ...", thanks for that. Furthermore that your English doesn´t sound like the one in my first sentence ;)

Teamwork is very important in Soldat. I hate those allies that stay in base and start an epic fight against enemies out of their worst dreams, immortal, strong and dangerous and I am very impressed by their will to fight those but I prefer killing foes from the opposite team.

I use grenades as countermeasures very often, by spamming grenades around like countermeasure flares on jet fighters to escape enemies or give em obstacles.

Yeah, I know, it IS expensive to do so and sometimes I end up facepalming over it when I was supposed to throw them in someone face at full speed to boost my attack.

Other than that I fail to use grenades properly, should practice more. : C
