Laptop, Network Help
« on: January 17, 2010, 01:29:28 pm »
Ok so yesterday night I left my laptop on so that it could finish downloading stuff, but when I came back the next morning, and I cant even see the google page on Google Chrome. Like I cant log-in to msn or do like anything on the internet. But yes my wireless connection is there I can connect/disconnect easily, and it's not my rooter because my PS3's (wireless) internet is working fine and the computer that Im on works just as fine. Anyone?

Please Help

Laptop is a Asus K40
Maybe 6 moths old
Windows Vista 32 Bit (was SP 1 but updated to SP 2 to see what it would do)  (Also have W7 Pro 32 Bit ready to instal (was going to do it today)would it resolve the problem?)

Tried turning off/on wireless? Or simply restarting your pc? Also, do you use an adapter for connecting or don´t you need one?

Check your power options.

Well, test whether AIDA finds your network card, if not it may be damaged by the heat all night long.

Yes. You need to download a program to use it.

In the network>windows network>network adapter description I have Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adapter and Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)

Is that it?

Could seem your network card is fried. You could try using a USB wireless adapter.

Have you tried any speed tests?

If you have abnormally slow download/upload but normal download/upload, I may have a few more links for you.

You should know about the guarantee. Look it up. If it is not covered buy an adapter + software.
