MAG Game PS3
« on: January 29, 2010, 09:39:03 am »
So I got MAG like 3 days ago and I was just wondering what did you guys thought about it.

And also I was just wondering if someone knew if you could have more than one character in the game (without having a new account)

They will never make any Massive Action game better than Planetside!

From what I've seen a 7. Apparently SVER is overpowered...

From what I've seen its going to be pretty great once I buy it.  Seems like a better tactical game over what we've seen so far this year.  I won't give it a number until I've played it though.

I'm giving this game an 8.  The opening 8 levels are at best a way to train the newbies in the art of war, and at worst a tedious grind to get to the real meat of the game.  Sevr's maps are pretty one sided. The game only allows you one character so you can't really dabble in the factions to find out which one you like, you just pick one with almost no information about it and are stuck there until you max out at level 60.  The game has VERY long respawn times which wouldn't be a problem if there was something for you to do while you wait.

This game has a pretty long list of flaws but all of them are minor and patchable.

It ended up snowing here so I bought it out of boredom. Basically what a-4-year-old said. I kinda wish you can have more than one character because there are 3 different factions and you can only choose one network. The S.V.E.R faction is where I'm chilling with. Apparently, they are overpowered but I'm already a few levels deep to delete my character and switch to Valor or Raven.

They could definitely lower the respawn times at max 10 seconds but I'm sure that would affect the game a whole lot. At least players can play the game instead of wait all game. 256 domination and the 128 player acquisition is really fun I think. The 32 v 32 TDM is pretty fun too.

Overall, an 7.5

I really want to try this game, but it seems like it has its flaws. The long respawn times, the necessity of a microphone, the apparently unstable servers, etc. It's one of those games that I would rent rather than buy, but that would kind of be like renting an RPG.

Any game that involves teamwork needs a microphone.. i hate when someone joins my left 4 dead 1 or 2 team... with no microphone seriously.. Mag is a interesting game.. the fact it goes over a 100 player vs's is great.. but it seems like a mess... alot of campers.. alot of neat weapons as well

I think camping is gonna be the lions share of game play in this game.

Gonna rent it out probably. Apparently its like OP Dragon Rising and Cod.

Microphones aren't much use over here in Europe. Most people can't speak English fluently enough and they won't understand you. I do use a mic in L4D 1 and if I do find someone who actually uses one too and we're able to understand each other, it's probably someone from the UK. French and the Poles are the worst. They can understand written text somewhat, but their English is still poor or almost non-existent.
As for microphones on PS3...I've almost never heard anyone using them properly. Most people just breath into it or argue with their moms and let the rest of us listen.

That is why you play with friends who speak your mother tongue.
Last year, I dreamt I was pissing at a restroom, but I missed the urinal and my penis exploded.

Pirated games are popular over here. I prefer to buy games. So, I'm left to play with random strangers.

Not with L4D and other Steam games.
