Flag throw and Damage Indicator

Flag throw modification

 The throw is currently extremely unreliable: that leads to it being very rarely used. The idea is that the flag would fly to your cursor when you throw it, landing at the exact place you pointed ( naturally it would collide with obstacles and players ).

Damage Indicator

 In several games, when you get shot from a direction, the screen turns a bit red on the side of the shot. Something like this should be implemented into Soldat ( even as an option ), because in Realistic, it's often annoying that you don't know where the killer blow came from, or by the time you find out who's shooting you, you're already dead.

Just for the record, both of those have been suggested before.

I can almost garentee the flag withh be moded next version and I dont like the hit indicator idea.

And bja888 what makes you so sure about the flag being put in?
Illumination is not reached by visualizing the light but by exploring the darkness.

you should be allowed to disable the dmage indicator... Wouldn't it make the game too easy though?

It's a flag. What do you think? :P I'm not in support of the first idea because it seems too unskilled and unrealistic. The hit indicator had better have been on the to-do list for a while, tho'; that's been suggested numerous times, and I've supported every one of such ideas.

And bja888 what makes you so sure about the flag being put in?

I have a feeling 1.3.2 is going to be 80% to 90% bug fixes. MM has been getting a lot of pressure about fixing bugs. (especially from me :D)

I fully support both of these ideas. The flag throw isn't a major issue for me, because you can still make it somewhat accurate as long as you throw in the direction that you're facing, but a more accurate system would be nice and would run less risk of losing the flag during important CTF games.

The damage indicator, on the other hand, sounds awesome, and I'd love to see it implemented (along with an option to disable it, both client-side and server-side). I'm not sure how useful it would be in regular games, but it'd without a doubt be beneficial to the realistic community.

Wouldn't it make the game too easy though?
I don't see how it would make the game any easier. You're still going to have to kill the person. Knowing his or her general direction isn't going to drastically alter the difficulty of that.

I don't care much about what will be done with the flag. Though I like the Damage Indicator - But only if this addition would be server related and not something everyone can disable and enable whenever they want.

so true I mean wtf is up with this idea? you could try and javelin throw it but it wouldnt go far...

Last I noticed, flags are attached to metal poles. And that's like throwing the javelin: not like throwing a balloon.

vulbastick, flag is already throwable, this would make it more usefull.

As for the damage indicator, it'd only be of real use for people who play realistic with music, since there are times when you only notice getting hit on your health bar, but not otherwise.

well for a dude who can fly in any direction he wants to with jets on his boots and can use 10+ kinds of weapons he sure can't aim with a stick.....yea, they should fix that, i can throw a stick better than him..

EDIT: him as in the "soldat"...you know, the dude we all use...yea

but can you throw a flag better than him.
its better if the flag throwing is lame cos its kinda unfair. If you could throw it where your aimer is like demonic wants how would anyone ever get their flag back?

Mistercharles: That's not what Demonic meant. I think he's talking about a blood effect...so if you were shot from the left, the left of the screen would be tinted red, as if blood was running in your eye. This effect is used in FPS games a lot.
