Graphics card.
« on: March 29, 2010, 01:58:36 pm »
hey i have a 3.0 ghz dual core processor(not dual core2) and 6gb ram, with windows 7 on it. i have a nvida 8400 BFG card in it and i cant even run oblivion smoothly. from other people i hear that my graphics card is the issue, im planning on getting a nvida GTX 260 after just figuring out that it will fit in my case (the card is huge) will this in the end give me better graphics?

I would go for a DX11 card, but suit yourself. The gfx card is definitely the bottleneck in your current PC.

Yes, it's the odd one out, the noob, sort of.
I'm with psyche on this one, cause my head's banging too hard to think of anything better atm...

The price difference is negligible, might as well go for 10 or 11, 9 is already getting rather outdated...
Especially with all those fancy games coming out like rain these days...

And stuff like this. It basically gives developers a way to put alot of detail into 3D models.

What kind of case? ( standard dell crappy one or ??? )

also how big is your current monitor/resolution please

DX11 is meh but I'd get a 5770 if you want DX11, but first at least tell us your resolution

I'd get a 5770

I second this notion. I just recently bought one myself.

I can't even tell which one is supposed to be better for any of those.  Guess that shows how far graphics have come.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.
