Just Cause 2 demo [competition maybeh]
« on: April 04, 2010, 01:07:47 pm »
You probably see where this is going.

I can run this son of a b***h, but only with an average of 20fps - with everything pretty disabled, and the game is still pretty... Lemme post my specs.

First, the Benchmark
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+, ~2.2GHz (single core)
GPU: ATi Radeon HD 4350 1GB DDR2 w/o HDMI
Memory: 2048MB DDR2
Motherboard: DFI RS482
OS: Windows 7 x64 Ultimate RETAIL

So, if this tells you anything, it is that a slightly upgraded emachine from 2005 can "run" games that are recent considering that I can barely run the Just Cause 2 demo.

With the above business in mind, for those who don't have the Just Cause 2 demo but could run it should either buy the game or grab the demo. If you grab the demo, I was considering a sort of competition to see who can complete the most either in chaos and/or the achievements. Here's an example:

Oh and btw, for people who don't know what (or that Just Cause 2 has) SSAO is, wikipedia is your friend.

Last year, I dreamt I was pissing at a restroom, but I missed the urinal and my penis exploded.

Something I just found out. You could technically buy a step under the desktop I've got for $100 and then upgrade it. Would it be worth it? eh probly not. but for low budget, why not

It depends, if it's one of those hp/dell pcs that have an intel mobo that only has a integrated graphics card and no pci x16 slot or anything then not really.

I'd rather just look for awesome bundle deals on craigslist or on newegg/techbargains/etc.

can't run this bitch on xp, not kewl

I finally got around to installing w7 and this was one of the reasons. The game is totally awesome. If you like huge areas with lots of stuff to do, you will like it.

I found myself dicking around in the game for hours before even trying any main story missions. Currently 22 hours in, and lots more to do. Getting 100% completion is out of the question though. It's purely for machoists.

The graphics is pretty great, if you got the hardware to push it.

Hahaha I started up the demo thinking "I could probably beat that score" and blew myself up almost immediately.

Gah when I first started this game, it was like learning to walk all over again D:

The grapple+parachute trick took me a while to get down, but now I'm pro. Ugh, I've had some epic battles.. at the radar station in the desert, I was getting slaughtered, so I shot a heavy canister thing and grappled onto while it was midair just as the demo time ended. Probly one of my favorite endings, me flying through the air, bullets whizzing etc

Then there's the hijacking helicopters and flying around destroying everything possible before the time ends. Fun to shoot down other helicopters etc

Major, you're thinking of Just Cause. Just Cause 2 recently came out.
This signature was borked. Now it is not.
