new in-game interface + a few suggestions

another one of my new soldat interface project.
the reason im doing this is because i believe soldat needs new & flashy things
instead of adding weird and useless stuff which makes soldat worse.

-added new kill console
-added weapon box
-added headshot image




weapon box only appears for 2~3 secs when switching weapon.



or we can just remove the weapon box...
I think making exploding headshots should be possible for all guns with 100% chance

The weapon box can be done with scripting (OnWeaponChange that triggers DrawText and InterfaceImage with respective weapons). Sounds cool, I'll try to write it. ;)

The kill log looks nice, but it would eat the space that is reserved for chat log. Remember, Soldat's base resolution is 640x480, so we don't have too much space on the top.

Doesn't look bad. The country idea for player indicator doesn't sound bad also. I like it and I'm looking forward to your script, freestyler :P

@DarkCrusade: Sorry, that is not one of the suggested interface features but rather a custom mod which only team korea members have access to.

Fully working, now I'm making a list that would sort the weapons (primary on top of secondary [simple if primarynum > secondarynum doesn't work as I want it to, since fists are #255]).
I could add ammo counter as well.

The headshot image is useless but otherwise it looks good. I think, however, that adding the name of the secondary weapon next to the name of the current weapon would be better. There's no real need for large pictures on the screen.

how did you come up with a team with only 2 players? ;d

to be honest I like the lay out, except for the weapon switch to be so huge, would be better with 2 small images on the bottom beside the weapon stats tab and also have a list of peoples life statsu (dead/alive), like the F1 but not covering up as much...
however, it would be nice to have this possibly done ;O

is it really possible to mod interfaces with scripts? I thought that was only possible for server functions...

Since the new server version coming with Soldat 1.5.1 there are some functions allowing displaying things like interface.

i rly miss the old tight and bright console, like the current DM console. This kzya's one is kinda CS-like, which is much nicer than the current Soldat's.

Nowadays, i dont even use death console, cuz its ugly and fuck opaque.

Although it is an interesting idea (and as a modder could make for some interesting modding options)  I have never had any problem with weapon identification be it my own weapon or someone elses.

BTW, kill console cause lags in soldat. Whenever I play on some ctf (+8 players) and kill console gets ridiculously long (I've already changed it length in .ini file) soldat starts to lag.

I suggest to make a separate images for nades used it deathlog and interfaces.
Just add the NADE (.BMP/.PNG) file into \Interface-gfx\Guns folder.
So it will be used for deathlog only, and NADE from \Interface-gfx or \Custom-Interfaces\InterfaceName - for interface only.

upd: forgot about CLUSTER-NADE, same principle

looks good beside the weapon swich thing sounds useless for me and wired to have it so far in screen mid.

Specially the head-shot image i like rly, its from css but thats anyway awesome (and would be fast done)

gogo add headshot image in new soldat real pro's enjoy when all kills are headshots ^.^

I've wanted weapon images to be a part of the interface for a loooooooooooong time. Really hope that gets implemented.

I thought these new scripting features were dropped for 1.5.1. :S
Also, first thing that needs to be done to improve interfaces is anchors, so that they finally become usable in custom resolutions.

I would vote f12 on that kill log, and smilluu's version of the weapons. The css weapons look stupid in css and are annoying. If you can't remember what two guns you're carrying... then *facepalm*

But smiluu's looks very clean. would f12 it.

I also love the Country indicator (if it was a slightly less visible, like 5% less opacity, and slightly smaller) though I don't see how it would work in realistic...
