a good day
« on: May 27, 2010, 11:22:14 am »
I got up today at around 10am. It was no alarm clock that was calling my up early with its excessive ringing, but rather a clean beam of light shining on my face in through the window. It was the warming kind, that lets you know summer's finally just around the corner. I'd had a good nights sleep, the first in weeks, and I felt an overwhelming feeling of having enough time on my hands, to just sit back and enjoy the first fresh breaths of air of the day. When you're busy always, you have no time to stop and enjoy the little things. This morning would prove itself different. In fact, the whole day would.

So, I got up and gasped at the fact that it was 2 hours after my usual go-to-work time, and yet I had 2 full hours before I had to be there. I took my sweet time getting up. Not the usual lazy fashion that comes from waking up and thinking things should be otherwise, but instead a slowly embracing approach to the day. Almost as if I could not comprehend how much I fucking loved this day already.
So I got in the shower, and stood under the warm water for a while. That is utter luxury, mind you. It's always in and out before the water has a chance to heat up properly. Went for some bacon and eggs breakfast and brushed my teeth afterwards. Still a good hour before I had to be there. So, I finished dressing, fixed my hair, put on some cologne and I was ready.

I went outside to get my bike, and I marvelled at how warm the sun was this 'early' at the day. I got on my bike, put on my headphones and started pedalling. Now, when I go to work, I have approximately 4km of shore to pass, which is awesome when the sun is on. it's sort of a woodland-meet-shoreline area, and it's really quite breathtaking in the right light. I was happy.

Finally I arrived at work. It's this pre-school nursery, and I'm in charge of the 5-7 year olds. I love those kids as if they were my own, and I gotta admit I was looking forward to seeing the little bastards. When I got there, they were all excited to see me, and having missed their ol' play uncle, most of them started running at me screaming all over their smiling little faces. Now that was fucking awesome! Throughout the whole day, all I did was play dodgeball, football, baseball(or the Danish equivalent) cards, Ludo, did a few magic tricks, guitar and Uno. 'twas a good day. I was actually sad to be nearing the end of it. Finally when the last kid was picked up, me and this really hot chick that works there had to go around cleaning up. We chattered as always, but there was more chemistry in the air than usually. Nothing too wild, but enough to make me think it's adventure to be picked up on.

Finally it was time to go home, so it was on with the headphones again. Porcupine Tree - Trains, since it never let's me down. I got home a good 30 minutes ago. I went in and got my laptop, and took it outside with a cold brew and a pack of smokes, to watch the sun set slowly in the distance. ..which is where I'm writing this from now.

Nothing special happened today, but it was one of the best days I can remember. No concerns, no worries. Just a good day out on a job I love, coming home to chill. Thought I'd spread the love.

So, how have you been spending this fine day?

I woke up at 7am and went to the military registration and enlistment office spending there 10 hours on tests and waiting under this heat(32 Celsius with no air conditioners is fecking sick)....

But in the end I took a cold shower and started soldat!
^__________^
The only funny thing which happened to me today is.. When I came to register, there was a 18-19yo soldier girl..
She looked like she was 15-16 :S and she asked me all this questions, bla bla bla etc for the registration....
And finaly she asks me a stupid question "Hehe...Are you married?"
That made my day...

Probably because having "a good day" every day is bad for your health...

Nothing special for me today, except that school started at 9:50 AM instead of 8:00 AM. I got up at the time I'd usually listen to one of my teachers and took a shower and phoned my girlfriend.

Well, it was some kind of a usual day at school. Getting up at a time where others already need to work or learn has put me into a nice mood and my weekly guitar lesson was awesome (playing blues right now).

Devoting most of the day to practicing "Wish You Were Here" intro by Pink Floyd  :P

Woke up, ate. Got on subway. At the next stop what appeared to be a militant pre-school nursery class got on. Did not punch the little children screaming their lungs out at an ambulance, trees and birds in the sky. Found out I got an A. :) Chatted with hot (or rather, attactice) girl (who is gonna be out of the country for the whole summer :( ). Got home, kicked back on a fatty and ate. Delicious. Got on comp, listened to soft jazz and somehow managed to get a lot done.

Now, bored. (And hungry again.)

I haven't had a "good day" like you're talking about in some time.  HOWEVER, get back to me this Saturday afternoon and it'll be a completely different story.  I'll expound once that day comes.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.

Sounds like a good day echo. Nothing special today for me, but I'm continuing to buy accesories for a personal home studio and heard I got my package delivered for a new condenser microphone I bought. Probably going to test recording a combination of vocals and guitar and seeing the quality. Going to play roller hockey a bit later and a few of my friends are probably going hit the bar to top of the night. Semi productive I guess.

Woke up, went back to sleep, woke up again and then I noticed I'm in a bit hurry for nothing special.

Alarm started ringing at 10am, kept snoozing it until 17pm. Watched some reviews on The Spoony Experiment, and then a movie. Had Eurovision Song Contest on in the background while playing some Altitude. Then watched another movie.

I need a job.

Just woke up in the morning, I felt the need to thank the Lord. For some reason, the world seemed strange. The dogs weren't barking, the air was clear, and my mom cooked me some breakfast that didn't include ham. I ate -- not too much -- and received a call from a girl that I would like to have sex with. We set a date and I walked out the door. I thought, I wonder if I'll live another twenty four years?

It was a good day.

Do you think you might not? And I've always wondered, how old are you?

@topic: Woke up, ate poptarts, rode the bus to school, extremely uneventful day, apparently I don't have the balls to talk to a girl I like even though I had a perfect opportunity that doesn't present itself every day, got home, did some computer stuff, here I am.

Today sucked. After staying off of Soldat for 2 weeks to see if I am able to do well in my organic chem class, I tried hooking in my Ethernet here at school, only to find out that it is broken. Looks like I'll have to wait another 3 weeks to play when I get home.

Today I graduated from MSOE with a B.S. in Software Engineering.  It's a pretty good day. =D

Porcupine Tree - Trains

Nice. It just so happens I listened to this song the other day. The only reason this may be just a little bit significant is that I haven't heard anyone else mention Porcupine Tree besides my friend who gave it to me.

Cool day. Brings me back to the days when I helped out with 4-6 year olds... almost forgot that I had done this once.

My day? Finished typing up 10,000 words of journal entries. Occasionally I'll archive a whole notebook of the crazy shit.

Today I graduated from MSOE with a B.S. in Software Engineering.  It's a pretty good day. =D

lol, nice.

Yeah, they're not exactly world famous, which is a shame, 'cause they make an awesome band.
