Server upgrades

I'll be installing some significant updates to at least one of my servers over the next few days.  This may impact certain aspects of the hosting I do (both the official Soldat stuff and U13/PuttyNuts stuff) intermittently as this server acts as a firewall/router that sits in front of some of the other servers and virtual machines I use for hosting.

Sorry in advance for any inconvenience, I will do what I can to minimize impact.

As anyone paying attention can tell, my main mail and DNS servers are down, as well as the lobby and a number of other things I host.  I should have everything 100% back up and running within 10 hours.  Some of the upgrades I was doing went horribly wrong, and I will need to coordinate with my host in the morning to get two of my servers rebooted and then continue rescuing the failed work I was doing.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I'm quite upset things went as horribly as they did.  Rest assured I will keep the downtime minimized as much as humanly possible.

I woke up and just noticed the post and the reboot outcry underwent.. anyways I know we are still within those 10 hours you noted but I tried started some soldat servers and when tested connection problems come up for like 5 secs every minute or so.

Yes because like I said, lots of things would be broken...

At this time, most important things have been restored.  All accounts on outcry are not yet set back up, that will get done later today.


Please list things here that are broken that are NOT Soldat server rentals-related, and are not related to having accounts on Outcry.

Apologies, let me know when the stuff I can/should test is ready and I'll be glad to report any problems. Good luck with the rest of the maintenance.

I'm going back to sleep for a few hours, then I'll continue fixing things.  Pretty much the only things left should be accounts on outcry (including server rentals)

The server's ips changed. They are 204.80.93.33 now.

There is nothing wrong in DNS or on the lobby server.  Make sure you don't have any old hosts entries in your hosts file: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file

Also, ping rr.soldat.pl and defaultlobby.soldat.pl and tell us here what IPs it says you are pinging for each.

start > run > type cmd and hit enter. A black console window should appear. 

Type ping then the domain name then enter, eg "ping rr.soldat.pl" (without quotes) and hit enter. Stuff should appear; tell him what does.
