Hell, I might as well make a single player map.

Yes I always wanted to play mission based soldat. Will this be infiltrationor what???
And this would be played in realistic right?? This would even be a new great gamemode for you rserver.

Could I ask why it is CTF? Because if you are the only one to be getting the flag, and the bots are not supposed to capture, would it not be better to have infiltration as the game type?

Other than that, rules like anything, please continue, for I love you! And could you sketch some waypoints for the non-terrorist team, because it wouldn't be too bad to have some allies that are really bad at their job at the start.

It looks excellent so far Avarax, can't wait to play it when it's finished.

In my honest opinion, and for the sake of giving you a few ideas to help, I would suggest adding maybe a few visual Far Cry elements into this map. I just looked at what you have so far and that game just popped into my head.

I was thinking of something like this:

I know your not gonna change your map as you have probably allready got it planned out yourself. Just thought I might shoot some ideas :P.

@panzercatwagon:
i havent planned anything so far ^^
the platforms are simply build with fantasy.

ill not make it far cry like, it will rather be many tropical canyon platforms connected with old wooden hanging bridges, something like in pirates of the carribean 2.

@unlucky 13:
ya right, inf is a better idea.

@atomic hype:
crouch walk is a slow walk :D

EDIT:
damn, the bots are a real problem, even with bot seeing quality "very poor" they see you when you approach from behind in realistic. its just gay. and the botpoints are hard to manage either.
if this map isnt successful ill transform it into a TW or CTF map

Oh, I see what you mean. I still reckon it would be cooler with a Far Cry feel to it, but it's your map. I guess I could always do my own :D.

Anyways, is this the kinda thing you mean?

Sorry about the poor quality.

Seeing quality needs to be on "exceptional." At least, that's what it was on when it worked in 1.2.1.

Are you kidding? I love single player maps!

Also, ask keron for waypointing(when he gets back), he may know a few tricks to make the bots work out better. And I don't think it will ever be possible to be able to "sneak up" on bots...

Avarax, although your map looks quite nice, it doesn't offer much protection in terms of keeping your bots somewhat challenging. I've done singleplayer maps before (inf_JungleStrike, the first co-op map in existence since 2 summers ago), and have worked on the Timeline Project (More Single Player maps) After that. So I know how to make bots actually have a chance at killing you. From the looks of your map, it looks to me like the player will simply head right though the map with no trouble, barreting everything that moves. If you want, contact me, and I'll give you a few tips regarding this subject. (PM me)

well, i already decided that this will be a trenchwar map :)

i'd have designed it different if it was singleplayer. i guess if i made another attempt on a singleplayer map i'd make a big hotel.

Quick question, but are you going to add water to this map?  It seems a bit awkward to have all of the land floating in mid-air.  But, besides that, awesome map as usual.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

TW = no jet fuel? How do you reach the top-left without M79 / grenades, or is that just for aesthetics?

Yeah, unfortunately it's impossible to keep bots from behaving realistically in... well, Realistic Mode :P It's just part of core programming that it seems they have an eye in the back of their heads. I guess I could waypoint it, tho'.

BTW, @ your declaration above... I've never played any map you've made. Ever. ;D (And I'm not saying you suck at mapping, definitely not)

top left = aesthetics.

but you're wrong, in TW jet is allowed, but only to a max of about 10 jet ticks (imo), otherwise you suffer to much from falling damage.

oh and i guess you have played tropiccave at least once keron cryst ;P

EDIT:
regarding the progress of the map:
33% I'd say, but I'm really slow because i find mapping actually pretty boring :D

I see, and agree. But, there is other scenery that is soldatish, and you can modify things like that to make them such.

Ahaa, so you use Soldat Polyworks to make all your maps. dam i still have the first editor, and the interface maker too.
Its a good idea, you can make a base for each team, and use weapon glitch to throw weaps randomly( make a double stat gun and a cluster nade in the middle of them, then place a poly on them).

Fucking nice map!

The green thing over this rocky texture looks like the old B2b.. In better.
Would be great having a non trenchwar ctf_Map as beautiful as this one some day!

it's the unfinished beta, but it's basicly complete and playable... only thing are some bugs that are still in it.
