Inf Extraction + E-zombie

This is an updated version from last release in the Mapping Ideas section a couples years ago. Updates include visuals, poly-structure, and other miscellaneous things.

So without further ado:


Inf Extraction
A big map


It all began in the afternoon.



I had gone out to fish. I walked outside and the forest smelled fresh - felt sharp and cold. Baited the hook, dropped the line [insert fishing terminology here]. Little did I know, a mile or so away (just outside the forest), some crazy s**t was about to transpire.

Well, I awoke the next morning to hear on the radio that sidewinder missiles had been fired into a nearby parking lot. They didn't really say why. I guess I slept through it. Figures it's the night I took sleeping pills, damn it. Well, now we're to the morning.

 

Actually, it's still this morning, and I need to head for work.



I hike through the woods, pass the lookout tower, bridge, and sure enough! a bunch of craters! Well, I walked around them and telephoned the office from the midway building.



"Hello, work still the same as usual?"
"Yep, work still the same as usual."

I arrive to find that the place is actually a mess. I guess one of the missiles ruptured a plumbing line and it's flooding the basement, the blasts shook apart the cafe and destroyed the 5th floor hallway, and some guy is running around like he's demon possessed, telling us that he's felt bad omens in his gut. I guess his gut was right today, because as I enter into my 2nd floor office, I get a baseball bat to the head from Rick, who apparently spent the night in my office and turned psycho during the blasts.

I'm not technically dead yet, but after that, he bit me and ran out the door. I guess he was waiting for someone to open it because, in his crazed state, he couldn't. Huh, what a screwball. But I'll either bleed to death or turn zombie like in some Resident Evil game.

PS.

"Hey Stan, take this letter to my buds staying at my cabin in case I don't go back to 'em."

[buds get letter back at cabin]

"Good thing he's got guns. Let's go check out this s**t! You're comin' too Stan!"

Extraction Zombie
A big deadly map


If that version wasn't enough, I have a slightly more jacked-up zombie version with waypoints and all:

The "buds," armed with picks, shovels, guns and stuff, left the cabin, prepared for anything. They ended up making it to roof of the office building, and along the way, they...

Redesigned the van engine into a killing machine,



Dug out a pit in the basement and made deadly spikes under the soda machine,



and activated the newly designed live-wire deluxe system;



all along the way putting convenient little warning signs to signal where the vicious traps were set.

And of course, the cabin pond was not forgotten.

I know this map back from the good old MissionMod2 days :) It's completly gorgeous now, great job!

Aw man, I never knew that server took off... sounded fun.

Edit:

Zombie version added! I must admit that I am very pleased with the turnout of the zombie edition. Waypoints, death traps and all! Load your weapon, pick up some grenades, /addbot2 18+ zombies (the more the merrier), and run!

I always picked up some grenades and went on top of the bunker in the middle from where I nadeboosted to the top of the building on the left side. I don't know.. did you decrease the amount of jet fuel yet? If not I'd recommend doing so if you want this map to be straight.

Oh I see, Zakath did mention that he made some changes to the map to make it more suitable for Mission Mod 2. My versions have never had any jet fuel, lol, and with that "live wire" (deadly stuff) I put around the top right part of the office building roof of the zombie version, you can't boost up there anymore.

You got the floors wrong.

Also, very bad choice of texture. It looks very unnatural, shiny and cold.

You got the floors wrong.

Nice observation, but I sure as hell won't make a "fixed floor" edition.

One thought. I hate the way I made the three slopes to the left of the cabin. Should have made them ledges.

Am i just imagining things, or was I the one that was helping someone on the extraction script, similar to mission mod?
Damn, now that i think about it, it would be nice if somone has finished it.
2 bad i dont remember half of the concept or any source code to give...

I (think I) got running it on a server but with different name. Can't Recall. Will post mappack soon, so you can grab it.

actually, i've downloaded the maps from your server by now. now i just have to deal with some missing scenery. trying to pick up where you left off (AKA trying to reorganize after deleting your soldat directory--stupid me) is a bitch
