About reporting posts/threads
« on: June 12, 2010, 01:53:12 pm »
If you use the tool to report a post/thread to the moderators, please fill in the comment explaining what you think is wrong with the post.  If another moderator already dealt with it, the post has been deleted, or the reason for it being a problematic post isn't obvious then this makes the reported post very hard to deal with.

I don't know about other moderators, but I tend to ignore reported posts when the reporting user does not add a comment explaining what the problem is.

No reason to splice another hack into SMF if asking nicely works.  The fewer changes  we make to the SMF code, the easier upgrades are.

Despite that not even a little fraction of all members soldatforums has is going to read this topic or understand it I'd rather add this tiny feature than hoping for the best with a cup of tea..

Most of the comments that accompany post reports are worthless. I usually just forgo reading them altogether and inspect each situation manually.

But yeah, since it might help the other mods, I'd like it if reporters stopped making comments like "ban this guy" or reporting a post just to say that the poster's sig is too big. If you're going to report a
post it'd be great if you said why in a useful way.
There are other worlds than these
