alpha with .bmp
« on: August 13, 2006, 09:58:53 pm »
I have been trying to figure out how to do this for a couple of weeks, but I have had no progress. I was wondering if anyone here might know how to do it, and if they could help me figurre it out. I was told to use the notepad to change it, but I dont know how to change it the right way.

Soldat treats 00FF00 (neon green) as transparent/"alpha."  BMP files don't actually have an alpha layer, but you use this neon green color and Soldat translates it.

Reeeeename the .png to .bmp keke?

Post deleted, it makes no sense.  He has a .bmp already.

I think he means making alpha transparency with .png format, and then renaming it to .bmp. It has sense.

For modding you have to rename the PNG file with alpha-transparancy (extra layer which sets transparency (0-100%) for every pixel) to the BMP file you want to mod, so it did make sense  :P

but not for mapping that doesn't make sense.

You have to enable known file extensions (for Windows).
