Forum Registration Graph for 2007-2010

Compiled from the stats page. Would it be wrong to assume this has a rather snuggly correlation to Soldat registrations?

Yeah, well, hopefully Link-Dead will get new people interested in MM's prior games (Soldat). That could increase user registrations.

Few Soldat releases have been released in recent years, and each seems to have an increasing amount of bugs, and buggy new features. That's probably why people have lost interest. I'm glad to see people are still cranking out quality maps though.

I thought this was paid registrations for a second ;D
I'm curious though, what happened during April of 2007? There were 1426 visits and a boatload of people signing up, seems out of the ordinary.

Yeah, 1.4 was absolutely fucking huge. There was so much hype, teasers (anyone remember ingame dragon flies and linux version hoaxes?), and other stuff to keep people here refreshing the active topics page every second waiting for the release.

I remember that. I was traveling in other country when it came out. So I downloaded in the hotel I was and was impressed with the remake of Airpirates.

OnTopic: is there any graph of soldat registrations?

I don't think that information is at all public.

you're totally right about the hype-deal. i bet if enesce would keep everyone up-to-date with enthusiasm, we would have more registrations and more players!

Yeah, well, hopefully Link-Dead will get new people interested in MM's prior games (Soldat).

the other way around, people from soldat will want to check out MM's new game, but LD will suck and they will get bored quickly and it will die long before soldat does, at least thats what i think will happen

Apparently you don't know what "beta" means... f**king kill joy.

I'm quite sure he wrote it was a beta and not alpha. and if that is beta... then the game is gonna suck.

Unfortunately, i think I'm in accord with you, -Major-.  He probably should've let it say alpha :P
If the gameplay doesn't get very smoothed out and fluid AND there won't be neat and unique features, then it will dry->die

Surprisingly - nah just kidding ahah, most of the times you state something you are wrong and this time is not an exception. MM has not released the beta.

I really want LD to be good, but something in my mind tells me it's not gonna be worth the 3+ years of waiting.

@Mittsu: Follow his blog and read every line of it...

@Topic: 1.5.1 could have been released ~6 months ago. Screw all the bugs and whatever, but with the huge feedback (positive and negative) and pressure after release EnEsCe wouldn't have a chance to chill again. And actually 1.5.1 could have been in a good state ~6 months ago, IF he really took his time to release this s**t. And woulnd't stop developing for some months like he does always. It's like he's forgetting Soldat-Development completely (but visits this forum daily) and then comes back, rushes in and does some great coding for ~1-2 weeks... (according to Mantis)

Ffs, MM could just take one-two weeks, sit down with EnEsCe and f**king release the game. We really had versions which were even more bugged on release. It's like he's trying to do a perfect bugless release. Why in hell did he implement the updater then? You could do fast updates every 1-2 months without problems. I mean the open-beta went well, ok, but if he doesn't finally release it there won't be many who will play it cause Soldat is in a dying condition imo.
